He was an aerospace engineering student, and he wrote the best PhD thesis at Virginia Tech in 2007 or 2008.
And I realized that if I wanted to be in charge of that, where I could really have an impact, I had to get a PhD.
So after a while, I resigned, got my PhD from Brown University and applied math with concentrations in physics and computer science.
And the stuff I did for my PhD thesis worked perfectly.
