[0.00s - 5.40s] A while back, News Nation reported a claim from a Pentagon whistleblower that back during
[5.40s - 13.66s] World War II, Pope Pius XII tipped off the US government about the recovery of a partially
[13.66s - 20.32s] intact UFO that Benito Mussolini's Italian government had discovered.
[20.32s - 25.28s] So will the new pope open the vault and share the secrets below the Vatican?
[25.28s - 28.92s] I'm joined now by the host of UFO Witness on Discovery Plus, Ben Hanson.
[28.92s - 38.20s] Ben, it is so like crazy to think that there is a nexus between the Vatican and UFOs, but
[38.20s - 42.68s] that's something that was actually discussed in testimony before Congress.
[42.68s - 48.00s] Yeah, it sounds like it's like straight out of a Dan Brown novel, you know, Da Vinci Code
[50.00s - 53.76s] Is the Catholic Church involved in a cover up, something they don't want their membership
[53.76s - 55.56s] or the world to know?
[55.56s - 62.52s] You know, David Grush comes out and he talks about this 1933 case where supposedly the
[62.52s - 65.40s] US military was tipped off, like you said.
[65.40s - 70.82s] They come in, take this UFO, this object, take possession of it at the end of World
[70.82s - 72.28s] War II.
[72.28s - 78.14s] And allegedly the Catholic Church has not only records of that, but perhaps going back
[78.22s - 85.74s] to centuries, documentation of UFOs or perhaps alien visitation.
[85.74s - 91.26s] So here's what, you know, if P then Q, I'm thinking, why would they keep everything a
[91.26s - 92.34s] secret?
[92.34s - 99.70s] Because if, you know, their followers, their congregants, beyond Catholics, if people start
[99.70s - 104.18s] to realize that it's not an Adam and Eve story and it's not just Earth and there's a lot
[104.18s - 107.82s] more to it, there goes religion.
[108.50s - 112.66s] I think you've kind of hit the nail on the head, you know, that theory, because the idea
[112.66s - 119.38s] is the same, you know, concept perhaps that you talk about perhaps was Jesus married?
[119.38s - 121.26s] Did he have children?
[121.26s - 127.74s] The canonical, you know, doctrine of many religions is very kind of set in stone.
[127.74s - 133.14s] And so to go back and kind of rewrite history and to say, okay, well, perhaps not only we're
[133.14s - 135.98s] not the only ones in the universe, but what if they don't look like us?
[135.98s - 136.98s] Right?
[137.14s - 141.54s] So, you know, scriptural reference to making God and man's image.
[141.54s - 143.20s] So what if they don't really look like us?
[143.20s - 145.54s] Would that mean that people lose their faith?
[145.54s - 150.78s] Would that mean that they're going to kind of panic and give up on religion?
[150.78s - 154.42s] And what about the authority of religion and membership?
[154.42s - 159.30s] So all those questions is kind of what the theory is as to why perhaps they believe that
[159.30s - 165.62s] either people are not ready for this or that they should indefinitely keep it covered up.
[165.62s - 171.06s] Or you have to rewrite a few books to incorporate the universe instead of just earth, you know,
[171.06s - 176.94s] but I am curious about the official position that the Catholic church takes on extraterrestrial
[176.94s - 177.94s] possibilities.
[177.94s - 181.34s] Well, it kind of depends on who you talk to, right?
[181.34s - 188.22s] So the, the keeper of the records or the secretary to the perfect, the prefect of the archives
[188.22s - 192.20s] has come out and said that they absolutely do not.
[192.20s - 193.70s] They don't know where Grush got this idea.
[193.78s - 199.62s] They said they don't have any documentation of extraterrestrial life and they're dissuading
[199.62s - 201.90s] researchers from asking anymore.
[201.90s - 206.10s] So there's kind of like a process sort of like filing a freedom of information act.
[206.10s - 208.86s] You can petition the Vatican, see what they say.
[208.86s - 211.08s] Will you let us into your archives?
[211.08s - 212.34s] And they're saying, stop looking for it.
[212.34s - 213.78s] We don't have any of that here.
[213.78s - 221.34s] Now, I personally do know of people who have had access to archives and I do know, according
[221.42s - 226.18s] to them, that the Catholic church has kept records of things such as demonic possession
[226.18s - 229.22s] for centuries, very detailed records.
[229.22s - 234.54s] But as to the UFO subject, that's more of a mystery.
[234.54s - 238.50s] Like you had mentioned in the beginning, 50 miles of shelving, they probably don't even
[238.50s - 240.16s] know what they have in there.
[240.16s - 241.16s] And I highly doubt it's digitized.
[241.16s - 242.16s] That's my assumption.
[242.16s - 243.16s] Yeah, I highly doubt it.
[243.16s - 245.98s] Yeah, looking at the books, they're almost falling apart.
[245.98s - 251.78s] I only have like 30 seconds left, but is there any hope that the new pontiff might
[251.78s - 256.10s] be a little more transparent, might open up the archives and let people take a look-see?
[256.10s - 261.70s] Well, I would just say that if you look at what happened under Pope Francis, they did
[261.70s - 267.70s] re revise the guidelines as to what is considered a miracle, how to investigate or accept something
[267.70s - 269.22s] as supernatural.
[269.22s - 272.66s] And so the new pope probably will follow those same guidelines.
[272.66s - 274.82s] It makes you kind of wonder why now, right?
[274.82s - 278.46s] Is there something about now that they think might be coming down the road as to why they
[278.46s - 285.34s] have to stay ahead of it and kind of have a standard by whereby they decide if something
[285.34s - 286.34s] authentic or not?
[286.34s - 287.42s] So we'll see.
