My name is Mario Woods.

I currently live in Southeast Georgia. I'm 69 years old.
[0:01:02 - 0:01:06] ▶
I served in the Air Force from 1975 to 1983.
[0:01:06 - 0:01:11] ▶
And in 1977, I had quite the experience on November 5, Missile Cite,
[0:01:11 - 0:01:16] ▶
which was a Minuteman 2, 1.2 Megaton weapon in the ground,
[0:01:16 - 0:01:21] ▶
in a hardened structure, in a silo, just north of a small town named Newell, South Dakota,
[0:01:21 - 0:01:29] ▶
which is 30 miles north of Sturgis, which most people have heard before.
[0:01:29 - 0:01:35] ▶
This is a high plains area, Buffalo running terrain.
[0:01:35 - 0:01:39] ▶
I've seen them a few times also.
[0:01:39 - 0:01:42] ▶
But one o'clock in the morning changed my life that week of November.
[0:01:42 - 0:01:50] ▶
We say 18th in 1977.
[0:01:50 - 0:01:54] ▶
And you were stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base?
[0:01:54 - 0:01:57] ▶
And what was your role there? What were you doing?
[0:01:58 - 0:02:00] ▶
Security police. Assigned to the Missile Squadron.
[0:02:00 - 0:02:03] ▶
You have about 800 Security Police officers that worked at the site.
[0:02:03 - 0:02:08] ▶
And about one-third are assigned to aircraft back at the main support base of Ellsworth, the actual Air Force Base.
[0:02:08 - 0:02:17] ▶
All the missile sites themselves are manned by six man teens.
[0:02:17 - 0:02:21] ▶
And there are 150 Minuteman 2 missiles with 15 launch control facilities, is where you live.
[0:02:21 - 0:02:29] ▶
And you act as a response team while on duty on a 12-hour shift to respond to any and all given alarms or alarm.
[0:02:29 - 0:02:37] ▶
Or launch facility checks or anything that an ordinary police type duty would be.
[0:02:37 - 0:02:42] ▶
Not for our sake, but for the context of the audience.
[0:02:42 - 0:02:46] ▶
Do you have any mental health history prior to your sighting in 1977, your experience in 1977?
[0:02:46 - 0:02:53] ▶
No, I do not. I was part of the personal reliability program also for sensitive nuclear equipment.
[0:02:53 - 0:02:59] ▶
Can you explain what that is?
[0:02:59 - 0:03:01] ▶
Yeah, anyone that works around any type of nuclear devices, weaponry or construction of or the storage of nuclear components, whatever it may be, plutonium uranium or anything that's used in that particular field.
[0:03:01 - 0:03:19] ▶
You have to be cleared and granted a clearance in order to do it.
[0:03:19 - 0:03:24] ▶
If they detect anything that's abnormal with how you may react up to and including taking life if you have to and in preservation of keeping that hours or saving someone's life, I mean they really analyze you deeply to see if you can't do that.
[0:03:24 - 0:03:42] ▶
And you have to report if you're taking any sort of medication.
[0:03:42 - 0:03:45] ▶
Oh, they know. Yes, any sort of yes, diagnoses in the past dealing with mental health.
[0:03:45 - 0:03:50] ▶
Correct. They do random blood tests, your analysis, everything.
[0:03:50 - 0:03:55] ▶
We didn't have gum swabs back then or you know, the tests were quite different back in that day.
[0:03:55 - 0:04:01] ▶
But that was really there was there was no leniency in that.
[0:04:01 - 0:04:06] ▶
Okay. So in Ellsworth Air Force Base, 1977, you have a partner that you're working with.
[0:04:06 - 0:04:13] ▶
Yeah, Michael Johnson, he's a real light skinned black guy. He told me he was from Chicago, Illinois.
[0:04:13 - 0:04:19] ▶
And we only worked together that one day. He was working vacationally from my partner. His name was Steve Welchel who went to North Carolina to get married.
[0:04:19 - 0:04:27] ▶
So he had 30 days in which to do that. So in the interim while we went on a tour into the field, the mind you, your main bases Ellsworth and you report there are safe to have for our operations facility is at Ellsworth.
[0:04:27 - 0:04:41] ▶
And all the different all the three squadrons meet there for this huge guard mount as we're you know, we depart from there on buses or helicopters.
[0:04:41 - 0:04:50] ▶
If the weather's too bad and they can't travel on the road and we go out to our respective launch control facilities where we live for three days at a time and come in the morning of the four day.
[0:04:50 - 0:05:00] ▶
So set the scene for the night in question. What what are you doing?
[0:05:00 - 0:05:04] ▶
Oh really nothing we had gotten out there probably about nine thirty ten o'clock in the morning.
[0:05:04 - 0:05:10] ▶
Usually if you're working the night shift, which we were we were assigned to, which was six p.m. to six a.m. We try to lay down and take a nap.
[0:05:10 - 0:05:18] ▶
But you know that young and strong and vibrant. I didn't really see the need to do that.
[0:05:18 - 0:05:25] ▶
So during the day I just stayed up and did some other things played some ping pong or something and that night we went on duty at six p.m.
[0:05:25 - 0:05:33] ▶
Of course we go in and we get all of our code tables issue to us and all that stuff or when we're dispatched it can be either or.
[0:05:33 - 0:05:41] ▶
And I guess it was about nine o'clock nine fifteen or so.
[0:05:41 - 0:05:49] ▶
And I smoke cigarettes then so I just thought I'd walk outside and have a cigarette and it was between nine and thirteen degrees outside.
[0:05:49 - 0:05:56] ▶
So I have my long johns on over my fatigues and I just walked outside and you know you're talking prairie land as far as you can see north and east and west and you don't see south because the buildings behind you.
[0:05:56 - 0:06:08] ▶
And I see this light off to my east at about a thirty degree angle and it looks like.
[0:06:08 - 0:06:17] ▶
Like a mini moon I honestly thought it was it was the landing lights or some type of landing lights for a B 52 bombers because the main base supported aircraft uploaded aircraft of B 52s.
[0:06:17 - 0:06:36] ▶
And they often flew sorties or tests runs across the prairies at night.
[0:06:36 - 0:06:44] ▶
Usually around three hundred feet so it was like a low level flight right it was pretty cool to see that.
[0:06:44 - 0:06:51] ▶
That's what I thought it was I thought they were coming to me that's why I couldn't really gauge the distance I mean I thought five to seven miles.
[0:06:51 - 0:06:58] ▶
And I stick with that at about thirty degrees but that it never changed.
[0:06:58 - 0:07:04] ▶
And I kept looking at it looking at it now if I extended my hand this way it covered the circumference of the lights of the light I was looking at so what did how far away was the object I would guess five to seven miles.

And I'll the reason I say that is I at the end of this I can make that correlation.
[0:07:19 - 0:07:25] ▶
Because you got to have things that you know that put all this together and it was just so strange it was as if there's a light right out there a few miles away from you and you know it doesn't belong there.

It's not coming near you and it's not going in either direction anywhere else and there's no noise associated with it there's not just sits there.
[0:07:38 - 0:07:45] ▶
So that's where I was with that and I'm smoking this cigarette and I thought what literally what the hell is that.
[0:07:45 - 0:07:52] ▶
I can't be is that B 52's or is a helicopter's we did have helicopters back then but I've never saw them fly at night like that.
[0:07:52 - 0:08:00] ▶
And so again I just thought it was two B 52 bombers together so close you know one behind in a wingman like you know like that that I I just took it as that but I held my hand out like this and it covered the light the circumference of the light.
[0:08:00 - 0:08:16] ▶
But if I did my fist like this then it was larger than my fist was and I thought that is really strange how can that be when I sail with my father growing up I want to see with him a couple of times during the summertime he could he could do that you can't do that today but back then you know if she pensioner could do that.
[0:08:16 - 0:08:34] ▶
I went inside the facility went into the flight security controller office which was just right to the right as you open the front door and Bill Holliman he was a staff sergeant he was talking to his wife back at Ellsworth and the toggle switch or the rocker switch was on the wall just behind him right next to the entrance of the elevator door with the officers used to go down the elevator to the capsule.

And I said hey Bill I said there's something out here strange in the air I said some lights I said do you mind if I flip my lights at this flip the lights at this thing.

He just looked up at me literally and he had it big old gray phone back to his head and he just kind of wave me off you know like go ahead do it you want so I just honestly no SOS or nothing I just flipped it off and on off and on off and on three times and I ran back outside and that's probably 20.25

20.25 feet away from the door and just a little bit to the east of it of the door of the front of the door and just watching it a couple of minutes from the buy maybe a minute and a half and all of a sudden this thing goes out on out on out and on and it just sent shivers of me and I went wow they do see me so I literally thought it okay because I've had them do wing waves at me before like fighter aircraft or helicopter is out.

So I just thought it was really cool and I thought all right well let's carry this on a little bit further because still it was in the same location not coming closer no sound so as I went in I said hey Michael didn't know what I was going to do.

Michael didn't know Michael from Adams house can it's the first time we ever worked together and he was just simply come out sent out to work vacationally from my partner so I went and I said hey man there's something in the air you need to come and look at and now he worked missiles also but on a different flight he was usually at a different location he didn't work in November and he outranked me by two months by the way so he would be driving the vehicle and I would be the passenger or the team member.

So he kind of looks at me for a minute and really is not too excited I said come on out here man you gotta see this hoping it would still be there when I went outside.

So he comes outside I said hold on right there we walked about twenty twenty five feet and I said look at that you see that goes yeah I just flash the lights at that thing and it flash back at me and he just looked at me as in disbelief so I said stay right here and I ran and you're all fast and I said hey Bill you gotta come see this thing because he and I we went back

away and we knew each other pretty well and I don't know what kind of discussion he was in with his wife but he chose not to come out and stay

on that damn phone so I flipped the lights again same sequence blip blip blip blip blip blip blip three of three times ran back
[0:11:30 - 0:11:37] ▶
outside about two minutes pass and it goes out comes on goes out comes on and stayed on twice three and two that's
[0:11:37 - 0:11:49] ▶
right and so he just kind of looked at me and looked back at that and I said what do you think man he goes man I don't know and I said I'm gonna do it again I'm
[0:11:49 - 0:12:01] ▶
gonna do it again maybe it'll I said you hear anything couldn't hear nothing he didn't hear anything he didn't seem to be too impressed I must say that he just it
[0:12:01 - 0:12:10] ▶
didn't seem to really get a hold of him the way it did me I was excited about it still not knowing what it was I said it's got to I said it's got to be be
[0:12:10 - 0:12:18] ▶
fifty twos no reply so I ran back in again I did the same thing he stayed right there flipped it off flipped it off it's
[0:12:18 - 0:12:26] ▶
gone ran back outside I know Bill Holman thought I was a nut by that time so I get back out there and it flipped off and it did
[0:12:26 - 0:12:35] ▶
not come back on and it but when it did come on was about is about 30 seconds or so it had moved just a little bit
[0:12:35 - 0:12:42] ▶
north but it had moved further westward like from that position to this position which made it look say from to say from
[0:12:42 - 0:12:52] ▶
the three o'clock position where I was visualizing it seeing it maybe to the one thirty position something like that and he came on
[0:12:52 - 0:13:01] ▶
and it just stayed right there never heard anything never saw any kind of flame or anything like an afterburner or nothing it didn't move it just
[0:13:01 - 0:13:10] ▶
was right there and he goes hey man he goes he said I don't know and I said what do you think it could be whatever whatever and he walked back in
[0:13:10 - 0:13:19] ▶
time so the last time I went in here and flipped the lights at the thing came back out that that would be the fourth time
[0:13:19 - 0:13:26] ▶
and it was out and I didn't see it again it was when I came back out it was gone or it was out so I I just shook my head I just
[0:13:28 - 0:13:36] ▶
took it as well I guess they went that way you know maybe flying up toward or over toward Bell Fooch which is about 30 miles away
[0:13:36 - 0:13:43] ▶
north and west of our location more north of that's north Dakota you know so I mean we were in that proximity in that high
[0:13:43 - 0:13:52] ▶
northwestern area there and so I just went back inside and I guess all this time from like quarter after nine to about nine
[0:13:52 - 0:14:01] ▶
40s when all this transpired you know maybe nine thirty five I it's hard to be exact but I try to be and I went in and started
[0:14:01 - 0:14:09] ▶
playing some cards watching TV or something or he didn't want to do anything as I said we literally didn't know each other
[0:14:09 - 0:14:15] ▶
and we didn't we spoke very little and other than the fact that I knew you know the area in November you know that
[0:14:15 - 0:14:22] ▶
side and all the missile sites were located which are ten of them he was just there to fill in so
[0:14:22 - 0:14:31] ▶
we watched TV until midnight and that signal comes on used to be look like a radiological signal used to come on it 12 o'clock when all the three stations that we have would go off the air
[0:14:31 - 0:14:43] ▶
and then it would have that loud noise you know that signal static yeah so that happens so you just turn a TV off nation was a different place then believe me was in a different place then
[0:14:43 - 0:14:55] ▶
and I guess it was about twelve fifteen
[0:14:56 - 0:14:59] ▶
when as I was sitting now I think I was looking at a book or something I hear the alert phone
[0:15:00 - 0:15:05] ▶
in the flight security controllers office go off
[0:15:05 - 0:15:08] ▶
and that's the phone that's directly connected to the launch control people downstairs two officers downstairs
[0:15:08 - 0:15:15] ▶
and it sounds like and you it rings until you pick it up you got a snatch it off the wall and of course Bill Holleman did that and he I hear him
[0:15:16 - 0:15:25] ▶
saying yes sir yes sir yes sir sit four November five which is a two-pronged alarm
[0:15:25 - 0:15:30] ▶
it's an above ground and a below ground sensor that has been affected
[0:15:30 - 0:15:35] ▶
and as I said the temperature was between nine and thirteen degrees at night so it was cold side on the long john's fatigue bands
[0:15:35 - 0:15:41] ▶
and sure you know and my my I had on bunny boots
[0:15:41 - 0:15:46] ▶
because I knew I was going to be doing some walking because you have to do a certain certain type of route around the facility on foot
[0:15:47 - 0:15:53] ▶
inside and outside defense line which is a good walk and
[0:15:53 - 0:15:57] ▶
and snow it gets kind of little dicey because it just does but
[0:15:59 - 0:16:03] ▶
anyway so we got all of our equipment we had our weapons we had our code tables we had our ditty bags
[0:16:04 - 0:16:09] ▶
which is what you carry all your stuff in and the F-154 pickup truck was sitting directly outside our
[0:16:09 - 0:16:15] ▶
our front door we keep it plugged in because it gets so cold there that it will freez up the coolant in your engine
[0:16:16 - 0:16:23] ▶
or they also have a way of keeping the transmission warm with a plug-in
[0:16:23 - 0:16:28] ▶
so unplug that we were set to go vehicles warming up and
[0:16:29 - 0:16:32] ▶
we got our safety briefing and everything that we needed and off we went and I'd say that was probably right around 12-20-25
[0:16:33 - 0:16:41] ▶
and it was a 15-minute
[0:16:41 - 0:16:43] ▶
excuse me travel time
[0:16:43 - 0:16:45] ▶
to November five and strangely enough that was the closest
[0:16:46 - 0:16:49] ▶
launch facility to our launch control facility where we lived it was the closest one as the crow flies
[0:16:50 - 0:16:56] ▶
it was only maybe five and a half miles away but the way in that that you had to get there made it probably
[0:16:56 - 0:17:02] ▶
10 miles or eight and a half 10 miles somewhere in there
[0:17:03 - 0:17:06] ▶
so as we left we go through the gate out to the end of these are all clay roads you can go from one end of the state on the other on the clay road
[0:17:09 - 0:17:17] ▶
and they're maintained by the state they're very nice
[0:17:17 - 0:17:19] ▶
got the intersection hung the left there's no traffic believe me there's no traffic and
[0:17:21 - 0:17:26] ▶
next intersection turn left and it's four and a half miles from that intersection up to highway 79
[0:17:27 - 0:17:32] ▶
which runs down to Nuel
[0:17:33 - 0:17:35] ▶
so you're going uphill as you go down in this little depression area you're going uphill toward the highway bed as they build them
[0:17:35 - 0:17:42] ▶
high as a snow and ice runs off of them and I just happen to look to about my four o'clock position
[0:17:42 - 0:17:49] ▶
straight that way we're in November five is located and when I did I see this I see this
[0:17:50 - 0:17:55] ▶
pulsation like an orange yellow and white
[0:17:56 - 0:17:59] ▶
tight glow coming off the ground from miles away
[0:17:59 - 0:18:02] ▶
should have never never seen that before and I said hey Michael I said check this out man
[0:18:02 - 0:18:08] ▶
I said you see that glow over there I said look look I said can you see that
[0:18:08 - 0:18:12] ▶
he didn't say anything yet and as we got up to highway 79 and we turned right
[0:18:12 - 0:18:17] ▶
then we're on top of that plateau and now that four o'clock has become like a 130 again and I said look at that man
[0:18:18 - 0:18:26] ▶
I'm telling you that's that object and why I said that I don't know he just said whatever man and he said that to me a couple times that night whatever man
[0:18:26 - 0:18:33] ▶
so as we traverse down
[0:18:35 - 0:18:37] ▶
down highway 79 toward Nuel to a stop sign there's one stop sign and one stoplight and Nuel and
[0:18:37 - 0:18:43] ▶
population then was 230 people in that town and
[0:18:44 - 0:18:47] ▶
It was on the entrance and the exit on highway 79 every time I entered Nuel population was 230 when I left it was
[0:18:47 - 0:18:54] ▶
230 so now it's 600 and something as I was there in 21 but
[0:18:55 - 0:18:59] ▶
As we went downhill I lost sight of that of that pulsating glow
[0:19:01 - 0:19:05] ▶
We went down to the stop sign we took a right and the road goes out about a mile and a half and then a dog legs back to the left and
[0:19:06 - 0:19:14] ▶
Turned left on the not not a hard lift just a dog leg left

So we pulled up to this thing

So the cattle can't come out into the main road it still happens, but it really decreases that from occurring

But for me we were to I was at a 45 degree angle and I'm looking directly out his window

And the only thing I knew to do was to ask for relief

And where did that come from I have no idea where that

Thought or impulse came from you pray to God or Jesus or just relief generically
[0:24:04 - 0:24:09] ▶
I think he was in there and I just asked for relief from what I was experiencing

To breathe because I didn't think I was going to be able to take another breath of air and I grabbed my flashlight
[0:24:15 - 0:24:20] ▶
Which uh, I've gotten ridiculed before he was like it was an aluminum black 3d cell flashlight
[0:24:22 - 0:24:28] ▶
Think it was made in Japan. I'm not sure, but it was a great tool and they just started making them
[0:24:29 - 0:24:34] ▶
Now maglight didn't come out until 79 I had this in 77 it was given to me as a gift
[0:24:35 - 0:24:40] ▶
And I rolled the window down
[0:24:41 - 0:24:43] ▶
With my right hand and I grabbed onto that mirror
[0:24:50 - 0:24:52] ▶
Pull myself up on that window seal because I was so afraid to step out of the cab of that truck
[0:24:52 - 0:24:58] ▶
Now I'm fully on why would I be afraid I've never been afraid
[0:24:58 - 0:25:01] ▶
To do anything. I mean especially in my duty. I was so afraid
[0:25:02 - 0:25:06] ▶
Of what I was experiencing I didn't know how to I do not a deal with it
[0:25:09 - 0:25:13] ▶
I pull myself up on the seat of that up on the windowsill of that truck out of that seat
[0:25:13 - 0:25:18] ▶
And I grabbed my flashlight and I had a glove on my left hand
[0:25:19 - 0:25:23] ▶
And I had my I had my flashlight in my right hand and I had had my hand on the blue bubble up on top with a glove
[0:25:24 - 0:25:29] ▶
And I just I just flash that flashlight at this thing
[0:25:30 - 0:25:33] ▶
Like I did it to facility. I guess I don't really know and as soon as I did
[0:25:34 - 0:25:38] ▶
It felt that I got relief it felt like there was relief and I just slid back down in the seat
[0:25:40 - 0:25:45] ▶
And as I slip back down on the seat. I noticed all these I noticed dust particles and stuff that and away in which that cab was lit up

It's hard to describe it seemed like everything was in slow motion
[0:25:55 - 0:25:58] ▶
Like the dust it was in that cab circulating
[0:25:58 - 0:26:01] ▶
Uh from the vent work

Was like it was in slow motion move and I was like looking at it was like sparkles or something or like glitter

And I thought what what's happening here? What is this and I
[0:26:12 - 0:26:15] ▶
I was trying to breathe. I was trying to talk to Michael
[0:26:16 - 0:26:19] ▶
Got no answer from him as he was just stuck or glued to that to that steering wheel and he was just bathed in a blue white light
[0:26:20 - 0:26:27] ▶
You know the light intensity never honestly went away. It was just
[0:26:29 - 0:26:32] ▶
It was just all encompassing it was just oh it was just all surrounding to a point where
[0:26:34 - 0:26:39] ▶
You're like trapped in light
[0:26:40 - 0:26:42] ▶
There's nowhere. There's nowhere to go. I mean, there's nothing you can do about it. He just
[0:26:43 - 0:26:46] ▶
I don't know. I just felt like somebody had me right where they wanted me for some reason
[0:26:47 - 0:26:51] ▶
These thoughts and all this that I just described went by in just a couple of seconds not minutes
[0:26:57 - 0:27:03] ▶
But just a couple of seconds all this just happened so fast
[0:27:03 - 0:27:06] ▶
Faster than what I've just told you
[0:27:07 - 0:27:09] ▶
Then this black ball about six times the size of a beach ball look like as if it had
[0:27:12 - 0:27:17] ▶
vents or something on it not round vents, but these long
[0:27:18 - 0:27:20] ▶
Long like lines coming down the side of it
[0:27:22 - 0:27:24] ▶
It didn't touch our truck, but it shot right down in front over the hood of this f-150
[0:27:26 - 0:27:33] ▶
And I don't even know what to say, but it was so fast
[0:27:35 - 0:27:38] ▶
And so whatever it was doing quick
[0:27:39 - 0:27:41] ▶
That it just bounced around from every location on the truck front back left right in front and then it was just gone
[0:27:42 - 0:27:49] ▶
I don't and I still don't know how much time has passed
[0:27:52 - 0:27:55] ▶
Then I became afraid and I made sure I rolled my window up
[0:27:58 - 0:28:03] ▶
I put my M16 when I came back got it back in it when I slid back into the truck

I put my M16 between my legs and I was holding onto the barrel
[0:28:08 - 0:28:11] ▶
I don't know where my flashlight went
[0:28:12 - 0:28:14] ▶
I just knew to secure my weapon between my legs and I held onto the barrel

And this permeating smell I have no idea where it came from because as I said my window was up
[0:28:18 - 0:28:23] ▶
And I know his window was up so it had to come through the ventilation ductwork, I guess
[0:28:23 - 0:28:27] ▶
But it permeated the vehicle like I mean
[0:28:28 - 0:28:30] ▶
Bad ammonia like you want to roll the windows down you want to step outside and get some fresh air
[0:28:34 - 0:28:38] ▶
I mean some of the cleanest air on the planet runs through South Dakota
[0:28:38 - 0:28:42] ▶
bottom of a boat or something you know where they catch
[0:28:51 - 0:28:55] ▶
Shramp, I guess, and dump them there, but put them there. I shouldn't even say that but
[0:28:55 - 0:28:59] ▶
Anyway, it was overwhelming and when I smelled that I just got a real strange feeling from within like
[0:29:00 - 0:29:07] ▶
something when you're when you're afraid or when you're scared or there's something because I knew that wasn't normal
[0:29:09 - 0:29:16] ▶
And I know I'd never smelled that before I only associated with what associated it with what I'd smelled in the past trying to make a
[0:29:16 - 0:29:23] ▶
Maybe a visualization in my mind what it what it could be and
[0:29:24 - 0:29:29] ▶
The light never stopped the pressure did we could breathe again or I could breathe again
[0:29:32 - 0:29:37] ▶
Michael Johnson he didn't he never said anything
[0:29:37 - 0:29:41] ▶
From the time he rolled up to that site
[0:29:42 - 0:29:44] ▶
Anything the last thing he said to me was on the top of highway 79 when whatever man as it was glowing over in the far distance that I saw this pulsation

Off the ground or what I took as off the ground from where we were from driving there and uh
[0:29:55 - 0:30:00] ▶
So when that happened
[0:30:03 - 0:30:05] ▶
I felt as if I was becoming
[0:30:06 - 0:30:08] ▶
Sleepy or tunnel visioned or something I kept shaking my head
[0:30:11 - 0:30:14] ▶
Is I relive it as we're sitting here right now I kept trying to
[0:30:15 - 0:30:19] ▶
I felt as if I was gonna go out. So I was trying to hold my breath and squeeze you know like pilots do that
[0:30:20 - 0:30:27] ▶
You know and g-suits to keep the blood in your head, right?
[0:30:27 - 0:30:30] ▶
But I felt as if I was gonna pass out and I started getting this tunnel vision effect in a way where I couldn't
[0:30:30 - 0:30:38] ▶
I couldn't see and it was just getting smaller and smaller and it was black on the exterior of that
[0:30:38 - 0:30:42] ▶
Visual that I was looking out the front window
[0:30:43 - 0:30:45] ▶
I mean all these thoughts are running around in your brain and just and this is only take this is all taken place in just a
[0:30:46 - 0:30:52] ▶
A couple of minutes not ten minutes not even five minutes from what I what I understand
[0:30:53 - 0:30:58] ▶
And as I'm blacking out I know I feel something on my right side
[0:30:59 - 0:31:04] ▶
And I turn my head and I see these four I'm gonna call them beings
[0:31:06 - 0:31:11] ▶
And they are not walking as you and I walk
[0:31:11 - 0:31:14] ▶
They are just gliding across the ground maybe I don't know how high off the ground. I couldn't really see that
[0:31:15 - 0:31:21] ▶
But they have these little uniforms on and the one on the far right
[0:31:22 - 0:31:26] ▶
He had a some type of a small one in his waist belt. I've got a drawing of it
[0:31:27 - 0:31:32] ▶
That had a yellow tip on it some type of a yellow tip
[0:31:33 - 0:31:36] ▶
And it really got my intention and I was
[0:31:37 - 0:31:40] ▶
And I just couldn't believe what I was seeing
[0:31:41 - 0:31:43] ▶
But the one behind those three the front three were the same size exactly the same size
[0:31:45 - 0:31:50] ▶
looked exactly the same
[0:31:51 - 0:31:53] ▶
But the one behind them was was a was a chest and a head taller than the little guys
[0:31:53 - 0:31:58] ▶
And he had this thing on his chest right here that that pulsated the same color as what was on that little one
[0:31:59 - 0:32:06] ▶
And when I saw him then then I was afraid then I felt fear
[0:32:07 - 0:32:11] ▶
Maybe just visualize fear. I don't know they didn't do anything to me that
[0:32:13 - 0:32:17] ▶
Caused fear other than where I was and what I'd just gone through
[0:32:18 - 0:32:21] ▶
And then I went black. I just
[0:32:22 - 0:32:24] ▶
I just went that's the last thing that I saw in my mind
[0:32:25 - 0:32:27] ▶
And just a second went by
[0:32:28 - 0:32:31] ▶
And literally I I came when I came to my weapon was between my legs and I'm still holding onto it

And I just looked straight up like that and right out the windshield of that 150 in his total blackness
[0:32:39 - 0:32:45] ▶
Where where'd all the light go? Where's no literally? I don't even know where it was we were
[0:32:48 - 0:32:54] ▶
I said Michael Michael where are we?
[0:32:54 - 0:32:56] ▶
What had where's November 5?
[0:32:57 - 0:32:59] ▶
Because this this lit up it has
[0:32:59 - 0:33:01] ▶
Lights on it, you know, they're like like pole lights. It has those type of lights on it at night
[0:33:01 - 0:33:05] ▶
This is a standalone facility. So even if external powers cut this thing takes over and has a generator run itself, right?
[0:33:06 - 0:33:12] ▶
No answer from Michael
[0:33:14 - 0:33:16] ▶
And I kept yelling at him Michael Michael. What's going on with you man?
[0:33:16 - 0:33:19] ▶
And I pushed him in his shoulder really hard. I even I put my finger in his ear after a couple of minutes
[0:33:19 - 0:33:24] ▶
I shoved him shoved him checked his pulse
[0:33:25 - 0:33:27] ▶
I couldn't get anything out of him
[0:33:30 - 0:33:32] ▶
He was as if he was in some type of a state that I didn't didn't really know that have the words for
[0:33:32 - 0:33:37] ▶
As if he he was his eyes were open and he was breathing
[0:33:37 - 0:33:40] ▶
And his heart was pumping but he was just stuck on that steering wheel and I
[0:33:41 - 0:33:44] ▶
I tried I don't know how many times to get him to say something. I said snap out of it man. What's going on? What's wrong?

I got frustrated with that and I just popped the door open little lever on the side
[0:33:53 - 0:33:57] ▶
I popped the door open and I stepped out trying to get him my mind
[0:33:58 - 0:34:01] ▶
Where November 5 go because that's where we were. I mean and this was a this was a a very serious alarm. So

Reason had to be found out why that thing alarmed
[0:34:12 - 0:34:15] ▶
Where it did how it did

In that in that alarm configuration and when I stepped down I stepped in mud with those bunny boots on and I meant what the hell

How is this and and then to my right where your chair is located maybe a foot further

There was a wall there at about a 45 degree angle and it was white
[0:34:35 - 0:34:38] ▶
And it went up about I don't know as far as I could see like 50 feet but my eyes got more accustomed to the darkness

And then when I look in both directions not knowing exactly where I was on the compass
[0:34:45 - 0:34:49] ▶
Uh, it was as far as I could see that direction as far as I could see that direction and up about 50 feet when I become
[0:34:51 - 0:34:58] ▶
acclimated to the to the darkness had no idea where this was
[0:34:58 - 0:35:03] ▶
I said Michael come on man. You got to wake up dude. We're you know
[0:35:04 - 0:35:07] ▶
We're in bad way here. We got to find out what that what the hell's going on in here, you know
[0:35:08 - 0:35:12] ▶
Nothing nothing. I even tried pulling his hand off that steering wheel and he was just
[0:35:14 - 0:35:19] ▶
He was just I don't know how person can stay that tense and for so long that they don't cramp up
[0:35:20 - 0:35:25] ▶
I would cramp up doing that but he did
[0:35:25 - 0:35:27] ▶
The next thing that I knew was I hear
[0:35:30 - 0:35:32] ▶
WSC to November 1 that's us

WSC November 1 watch your location and I just I said are you gonna get that thinking that would snap him out of that here in that radio signal

He didn't answer and I picked it up and I said senior emin Woods WSC I said uh

I don't know where we are and he goes do you need medical help or do you need assistance?

And I said I don't know so I said I'm fine, but my partner won't respond to me
[0:36:04 - 0:36:08] ▶
I said he's awake breathing and well, but he won't let go of the steering wheel and he's just
[0:36:08 - 0:36:12] ▶
Sitting in a driver's seat just like he is stuck. He's just like in the frozen
[0:36:12 - 0:36:17] ▶
Tonic state. That's the word that I had never heard when it was told to me catatonic state and that's correct. He was
[0:36:17 - 0:36:23] ▶
So when I when I finally
[0:36:24 - 0:36:26] ▶
Got out of the vehicle again and and walked and looked and I'm talking where did all this mud come from with this temperature because everything else is frozen
[0:36:28 - 0:36:36] ▶
As I said that wall is at about
[0:36:42 - 0:36:44] ▶
50 feet high and at this strange angle like 45 degrees
[0:36:45 - 0:36:49] ▶
Well, it was the back side of the new leg reservoir dam
[0:36:50 - 0:36:52] ▶
And that is about on the map about eight miles eight and a half miles away from November 5
[0:36:53 - 0:37:01] ▶
Now we only had two will drive vehicles and where we were positioned behind that dam was in the very center of that dam wall
[0:37:01 - 0:37:10] ▶
At the at really at the most center point and at the far end was the slew gate where they control the water flow
[0:37:12 - 0:37:18] ▶
And allow it to exit to go out if it gets that the reservoir gets too full
[0:37:19 - 0:37:22] ▶
And in front of us was the rest of the dam and it that road ran uh north and south
[0:37:23 - 0:37:28] ▶
Wing security control told me to maintain one minute security checks so they were trying to triangulate
[0:37:33 - 0:37:38] ▶
Our location now I had never done that in tech school
[0:37:39 - 0:37:42] ▶
But I'd heard of it. I may have read something about it, but I'd never done it or been part of that that training
[0:37:43 - 0:37:48] ▶
So I didn't know how it was done. So I did what they asked and I probably made it probably made
[0:37:48 - 0:37:53] ▶
I don't know I probably made 20 25 checks before they got to us and uh
[0:37:54 - 0:37:58] ▶
As I was doing that I noticed it was getting light to the east
[0:38:01 - 0:38:04] ▶
And that was the sun coming up and then it dawned on me

Man we got this alarm last night 12 15 and I looked at my watch and it was after 6 a.m
[0:38:10 - 0:38:15] ▶
So we have all that missing time
[0:38:16 - 0:38:18] ▶
And I can't explain any of it because for me it was just what I saw what we experienced what I smelled
[0:38:19 - 0:38:24] ▶
Next thing I know we're sitting behind no new lake reservoir dam miles away
[0:38:26 - 0:38:30] ▶
Uh, a sergeant Garza was a three there were three um
[0:38:34 - 0:38:38] ▶
Alert teams looking for so that's six security policemen from three different sites whether they use the primary or the backup alert teams
[0:38:39 - 0:38:46] ▶
I'm not really sure and in 20 night in 2021 discovered that not only did they were they searching for us
[0:38:46 - 0:38:52] ▶
But wing security control or the
[0:38:53 - 0:38:55] ▶
control or whoever they were
[0:38:58 - 0:39:00] ▶
Ask for a federal or state assistance. So they sent out two deputy officers from Sturgis
[0:39:00 - 0:39:05] ▶
And one state trooper that that area was his area and I've got a guy that's named Steve that's working on as he is a state trooper today
[0:39:05 - 0:39:15] ▶
Who that deputy will or who that state trooper was it was on duty at that time and
[0:39:16 - 0:39:20] ▶
Two of the three or past but one named last name Kellogg is still alive
[0:39:21 - 0:39:26] ▶
And I'm trying to make contact with him
[0:39:26 - 0:39:28] ▶
Did Michael Johnson never make it out of his catatonic state your partner? No, no not while we were there
[0:39:28 - 0:39:34] ▶
When sergeant Garza pulled up he pulled up within say
[0:39:34 - 0:39:37] ▶
I guess he didn't want to get in get into the to the snow area that we were in
[0:39:41 - 0:39:45] ▶
He pulled up and I walked around the back of the truck walked out toward him
[0:39:46 - 0:39:49] ▶
And I said I said hey sergeant Garza. How's it going? I said what's going on? He said Mario
[0:39:50 - 0:39:54] ▶
I can't talk to you about this
[0:39:55 - 0:39:56] ▶
He said I'm just here to escort you back to November control
[0:39:56 - 0:39:59] ▶
And I said okay, but I need help with Michael Johnson and he looked at me kind of strange

You so what do you mean? I said I can't get him off the steering wheel and he won't talk
[0:40:04 - 0:40:07] ▶
He won't say anything
[0:40:08 - 0:40:09] ▶
Well, you know, I've never dealt with anything like that or anybody else has that I know over somebody's
[0:40:09 - 0:40:14] ▶
You know locked up frozen in some type of
[0:40:14 - 0:40:17] ▶
State of our catatonic state
[0:40:17 - 0:40:19] ▶
hanging on to something
[0:40:21 - 0:40:23] ▶
You know usually you can you know, I literally couldn't believe how hard it was to get that man's hands off that steering wheel

I really I couldn't believe it

So we unbelted him and did that and we slid him across the driver's seat and into the passenger side belted him back in
[0:40:31 - 0:40:37] ▶
He just sat there with his hands down looking forward and I kept talking to them thinking at some point
[0:40:37 - 0:40:42] ▶
He would just feel fall free, you know or whatever he was experiencing but
[0:40:42 - 0:40:46] ▶
Again, this was a two-wheel drive vehicle and walking around that vehicle as I just described on the
[0:40:46 - 0:40:52] ▶
left side or driver side of that vehicle
[0:40:53 - 0:40:55] ▶
About four and a half foot away from that door
[0:40:56 - 0:40:58] ▶
It's there today and that is the the holding pond
[0:41:01 - 0:41:04] ▶
For anything that comes out of that damn and it's pretty dead gun deep
[0:41:04 - 0:41:08] ▶
Had we gone in there driven in there. I'm just this is a what if now had we driven in there
[0:41:11 - 0:41:16] ▶
That roads only five feet wide. There's no way that this two will drive F-154 would
[0:41:16 - 0:41:21] ▶
Not even any big mud tires or anything. They didn't even have those back then
[0:41:23 - 0:41:26] ▶
Would be able to turn around
[0:41:27 - 0:41:29] ▶
We were just in the only position we could be in to drive out of that dead gun place
[0:41:29 - 0:41:33] ▶
And I drove out of it and I never went over any tracks and it hadn't snowed anymore
[0:41:34 - 0:41:38] ▶
Or anything had nothing had changed since since we were there
[0:41:39 - 0:41:42] ▶
When I left out of there was the only set of tracks
[0:41:43 - 0:41:46] ▶
Coming out of where we were one set of tracks

But had he opened that door and stepped out of that vehicle or I had you to go and write down

Well, you know wouldn't it probably just slid down in mud

But it was down pretty deep and now it was just amazing to me how we were in the right

position to exit there. That's important to me

Trying to explain it to myself how how this took place

Followed them back to the launch control facility to November 1

They scored it us all the way there

And then two of the three teams dropped off and I guess Garza or one of the teams remained

I guess they had to have when we were going to be removed from the site and taken back to the main base of El's worth

Which is about 55 miles away

And I didn't know that at the time

They had to have our replacements immediately there that you can't be understabbed on any kind of launch control facility

It has to be fully staffed at all times

So when we pulled up at the site my flight chief was there measure Sard Hawkins or um

Master Sardin Joel Gray assistant flight chief was a tech sergeant Hawkins
[0:42:52 - 0:42:56] ▶
The um facility manager he was a tech sergeant
[0:42:57 - 0:43:00] ▶
Yeah, the two officers that were on duty. They were off duty now. They were above ground. They had been relieved
[0:43:01 - 0:43:06] ▶
They replaced them to underground
[0:43:06 - 0:43:08] ▶
Uh bill hollumon the site cook
[0:43:08 - 0:43:12] ▶
And of course you had um one of the the one
[0:43:14 - 0:43:17] ▶
Security response team that remained him and his partner
[0:43:18 - 0:43:20] ▶
So they took me in the day room and I tell when they came out to meet us the gate slides open

I pulled in right in front of the uh
[0:43:26 - 0:43:28] ▶
Flight security controllers office and they just
[0:43:29 - 0:43:32] ▶
Disindead upon the vehicle. Well, we got our got our bags out and all that stuff and they went to the pastures sign

And I said I don't know what's wrong with Michael. I said I can't get into the speak and I said
[0:43:38 - 0:43:41] ▶
We had a heck of a time getting them off the steering wheel
[0:43:42 - 0:43:44] ▶
Nobody said anything at that point
[0:43:44 - 0:43:46] ▶
They took him put him uh put his arms over their shoulders and they took him to the back room
[0:43:46 - 0:43:51] ▶
I think in the in the facility managers
[0:43:51 - 0:43:54] ▶
Quarters. I don't know what they did, but that's where they took him
[0:43:54 - 0:43:57] ▶
They took me into the day room where I walked into the day room and my god been up the entire day before
[0:43:57 - 0:44:04] ▶
Five o'clock in the morning till we had garb out
[0:44:04 - 0:44:07] ▶
Travel you know to get out there and then stayed up all day when all night long and till this happened and uh
[0:44:07 - 0:44:15] ▶
So now it's probably somewhere around um, I'm gonna say 7 15 7 30 in the morning
[0:44:17 - 0:44:22] ▶
We had just departed new Lake reservoir dam and I'd never been there before I never I never knew that place was even there
[0:44:24 - 0:44:30] ▶
And it's a little north of
[0:44:31 - 0:44:33] ▶
And it's sitting back off the road about four and a half miles
[0:44:35 - 0:44:38] ▶
So it sits way back up on the prairie and I and I honestly had never been there before nor knew about it

That they had seen things like this before or like it was this completely novel thing

Well, there were rumors years before I got there that something happened down toward the badlands in the 66th area

And uh, where two security policemen were found uh

Out of their vehicle the vehicle was you know some distance away from them their weapons were distance from them and an open prairie

And they one was found completely with no clothes all in the other was just about like 90%

And I don't know what happened to that but there there were always talks and rumors about

Things in the air or things on the back of the runway at else worth you know be 52s uploaded bombers

that are ready to go uploaded on the alert pad and uh
[0:46:09 - 0:46:13] ▶
One of the use f86 is at one point or a couple of times to chase these objects away

And I think there's several reports of that. I know one of the guys that I know who's in the 16 pilot

And I just went and sat on the toilet

And uh closed the door and you know as regular stall door doors about that high up off the floor blue

You know the thought hit me. I don't even strike the site and that's the procedure that you do when you arrive at the facility

There was this if somebody struck a liberty bill right next to my head

Scene clothes I was in about 30 hours now and I just turned that faucet on his ice cold water

And I just literally just drunken myself in water. I was just soaking wet

Because master sarton grace said something to me as I came out of there and he said what'd you decline in the sink or something like that

So I think I had a towel in my hand and he said well, he goes get your stuff. He goes we have to go

Dodie was an Air Force counterintelligence agent basically tasked with performing a psychological operation

On an innocent researcher named Paul Benowitz who had seen an exotic craft at Curtlyn Air Force Base

Dodie convinced Benowitz that he was in touch with aliens even receiving signals on his computer

This eventually drove Benowitz into psychiatric hospitalization

Thinking oh boy, well, you know, what's what's this gonna be and I'm still wet like I said

I'm still damp from the water the the basin bath I call it and

An a t-shirt or something and it was a nurse in the room and there were two flight surgeons and it was the time and when they had these

These gray like separating walls that were about five or six feet high with this little waving glass at the top of it

So if you walked in another room over there you could see heads, but you couldn't see what was going on

That used to be like a big like a room divider or something and that was important because

The guys from OSI they were on the other side of that or that wall of that that panel and I knew they were there

And as the doctors, you know, just started, you know, asking me questions

We was one tall and one short

Uh, they tested my ears eyes nose throat looked at my joints my hands my fingers

And then it like walk over if you feed away and they'd talk a little bit and I couldn't quite hear what they were saying and a nurse was just over to my right and

There's a nursing here and any and he snapped that thing, you know, I just thought oh, you know, really I did

I thought oh man, you know, we're looking forward to this

And uh that was the that was farthest from my mind of anything in that room that day

And I said excuse me because yeah, I need I need to look at your gum, your teeth

That was better than the alternative I said sure okay

So uh, I just sat right there and he just opened my mouth and he just took his his index finger in his thumb

Topps and bottoms and I mean really took his time and spent time up here in the front under my tongue just pressing down like on the bottom

But he says we need to take a skin sample and I said oh

types of our two little

stainless cylinders on it with cork tops on it

And I guess the tool was inside

He popped that off he went up here and he just clipped the piece of skin off there and he took the whole tool when he stuck it

I felt it, you know, didn't feel like much just a little clip

And then he did it on the back of my hand once over here and once right over here

But it that's what he used the same tool put it in the other one corked it and did that and they walked over for a second and talked a few more moments

Put your vehicle in neutral

Place it in sort of tape or anything like that but the the whole place is like is

And there were all these old things like a sewing machine table with a singer sewing machine

Those old 50 style lamps that went from the floor to the ceiling and had bulbs sticking off of them of that

TV and a cabinet is like an antique shop for future. Yeah, like a museum and I and I've and this is a
[1:34:21 - 1:34:29] ▶
Wooden box radio and I found that to be so cool because I ended up buying a
[1:34:31 - 1:34:36] ▶
US RKO radio in a mahogany cabinet that worked with twos from a rancher
[1:34:38 - 1:34:44] ▶
There in South Dakota that I wish I'd have never had wooden knobs and everything on it and work beautifully
[1:34:44 - 1:34:49] ▶
That from that from when I saw that I had to have one of these down radio
[1:34:51 - 1:34:55] ▶
It was I don't know why but this one was much nicer than what I saw but
[1:34:55 - 1:34:59] ▶
Standing I drew pictures of of it the best of my recollection

Of everything and then I was told in the in the very back of the room there was a round window

But it looked like it looked like it was a

It was a round window with a slice taken out of it like a pie without with a slice removed from it

And I was told like I go look out that window

But I was too afraid to walk over there and look out of it for some reason

I didn't I don't know why but I mean

But I felt at ease, but I still didn't want to know or didn't want to see out that window

Something really bothered me and about looking out that window and I was told that twice that I could go look out the window

And I didn't so then I was told to follow

And to follow when I did I followed a small gray in front of me little eggs and

Like spandex suit or something on on I guess

I mean these these things are so foreign to you this this whole visual concept is so foreign to you

It's very hard to find words for a lot of it even after 44 years and it's just

And I went I followed him went turn left in this small little opening area and went into this room where it was just

fogged and then that's where my memories end

But that's where the thing was done to my wrist

Don't know from that point on uh

That seemed to be right around the end of it. Did it feel like a dreamlike state or did it feel

Physical in this hypnotic regression. Oh, no, I felt physical. I felt real the first time I was hypnotized which was a Robert Upton Bob Upton

Uh, I had I had a pretty bad time because I never I'm not a person ever thinking that I could be hypnotized to start with

I'm pretty strong willed and and uh, I feel as if I'm common sense also and and I just thought I'll hypnosis for someone else

It's just not for me, but

Robert wanted me to try it. So I said okay and and uh

The funny thing because we had been through a hurricane just prior to that down in Brunswick, Georgia

And I had some roof damage and deck damage on the back of my home
[1:37:18 - 1:37:22] ▶
And they were re-roofing my house that day now. What a day to be hypnotized on by this guy who he jaymo
[1:37:23 - 1:37:29] ▶
He came up from Jacksonville 67 miles south of me and
[1:37:29 - 1:37:33] ▶
Hypnotic regression person for a move on at the time. I don't know if he still is, but he has my admiration
[1:37:42 - 1:37:48] ▶
I couldn't do his job and he didn't get any sort of weird sense from him that he had ulterior motives. No, no
[1:37:49 - 1:37:56] ▶
Now Robert Hasing had given him a set of questions that he was gonna ask me and he told me that and I was fine with that

They were re-roofing my home
[1:38:02 - 1:38:04] ▶
So you'd imagine here's like 15 people on my roof and my home has got a really steep roof. I couldn't do it. I can't climb up there anymore, but

So they're literally peeling off plywood and replacing plywood nailers and

Everything else things being tossed right up there. I never heard a single a

But he took me down to a level

He had a way of doing it

That evidently worked, but once I did and I confronted what I saw

Why I have no idea and those are only other side of my body anyway or those pock marks that um

And didn't have that chance to last time I saw him was probably 2019 and

He has some family issues and had to go up north and where you got COVID and he died and

His kids went to school with my kids at Frederica Academy on St. Xamonds

What perplexed him was that there was no known life-saving event that he could think of even including up to a car accident

That anything would be put in there or down here to either

He said in there exactly the same depth

You would not believe the parade we had going up and down Orman road watching this film and it was a strangest thing because I had not been back in November 5

I had to have it darkened out so you could sleep you just guys can't sleep in sunlight. No, no anybody they can but uh

Anyway, I was I was there sleeping. You had to get up for work and all of a sudden

Open my eyes and I had this I'm standing at the foot of my bed

I have never been a person to sleepwalk every in my life that I know I know ever

And I'm standing at the foot of my bed holding onto my bed frame with my right hand

And directly in front of me there's about a 4 1 1 2 1 for a 5-foot hold diameter

in a north wall of my bedroom and on that

In that circle that vanished immediately like sparks flew off either side of it

As soon as that flashed out or went away all the lights in my house started flickering

What's those alarms and I said I don't know I grabbed my pistol. I didn't know why I was gonna clear my house, you know

I couldn't explain what I just saw and hadn't even verbally said anything about it yet and it was just right in front of me

Uh and mind you just two dressers that were partially that had a

That were partially gone or in that dark circle that I saw

And so I cleared my house and the and I go into the kitchen area and the all the lights were just like

Just barely on like they're just like the candlelight all throughout the house and the stove

The oven the microwave

And refrigerator they have low voltage alarms on them which I never knew

That's what the alarms were they were all going off

So everything seemed to be normal other than the fact the lights were not trying to flip it on lights

And they wouldn't come on they just come on barely and just flicker for a minute

I just turned it back off, you know, but the stoke but the light over the stove it was doing that every every electrical component in my home was affected

Everything doorbells is some everything

So I went back and talked to my son I said Jake I said

What the heck was that man he goes I don't know dad. It's weird. He's just really weird you can call him and talk to him about it

So I said well, I'll call George the power in the morning when I get up, you know

So I just put everything down. I'll lay it back down and just thinking you know

He said yeah, George powers in the front yard and I live on an acre

So I got dressed and I hobbled out there and

These guys right there working on the where the power distribution comes in to my home

And it's all underground my home was built in 97

And uh, so I found the supervisor I said I said hey, I said hi doing sir

I said I told him my name he goes this your house and I said yes sir. He just looked at me and uh

I said wow's the I say what happened he goes um he just looked at me and he said uh

Well, he lost he lost power lost the leg of power

I said dang is that up does that mess up the whole neighborhood? He goes he looked at me says no, he says just your house

I said what do you mean? He goes well you lit up our board downtown like the fourth of July out here

And I said well, how did I do that? We were all asleep. You said I don't know

He said but we're gonna have to replace this leg so you have power in your home

He said come on. I'll show you something say it up. They had already taken this big dolly

And it had like transformer equipment. I've got pictures of it

They take this transformer thing on on a dolly

but uh, I just kept questioning what I had seen and what had happened and why that happened and ours was the only house affected

One of our neighbors kids come by to my son you should play with

He goes he mr. Woods. He said um, I was cutting my grass any way to I mean I'll stop and I stopped and he stopped

And he goes hey, what was going on there

Last week or so when all those lights were in your backyard and I said what are you talking about?

He just he did hesitated for a second. He goes

He goes your backyard was lit up like a Hollywood set or something

He said like those great big lights. They say up in the air. He says a whole backyard was lit up. I said

He said yeah, it was four o'clock in the morning. He was leaving for work. That's how he saw that

What would they what interest could they possibly they would have in you know in a 65 year old man or

Um, but anyway, all these people were pointing out the windows and the grades went from kindergarten to 12th grade

Everybody including including teachers were looking outside and the the strangest part about it it was

over the directly over this church that sat right on the corner of de queen boulevard

And the schools here and the church was there so they were just right here and we were right there next to it and

My mom she opens her door and steps out my sister. I remember her saying mom. I'm scared. She says it'll be okay, honey

She said and I grabbed her by the other hand. We were hanging there watching them

You know and probably watching them for a good couple of minutes and

they were white silver craft

standard saucer configuration with a dome on top and a dome on the bottom

But they had these lights that went around the outer rim of it and they were all in they were all synchronized and

Is extremely fast. It was so much to take in

As something you've never seen it and it couldn't even know existed

But it felt so normal it looked so normal like somebody was checking in on us if that's the word

And when they left it was all at one time
