So many Americans are going, what do you do here?

Where does our taxpayer dollars going?

why it's in the sky, what's drones is not a new technology?

I mean, this is an old technology.

You can go to Best Buy, my four-year-old has a drone, right?

We don't even know that it's in our backyard.

This is, once again, where we're going to have committee

department after department come before the Congress

and say, what do you do here?

Tell us why you need to have this at or the other on this budget.

So how do you get answers?

what you're using these dollars for on how quickly you respond.

And then you go, OK, wait a second.

Do you think the US government has answers?

On the border, these drones are happening every single day.

And then the American people, there's a threat happening right now.

Not only in New Jersey, on our southern border.

Bring up the what if.

These are part of the questions that Americans deserve to know the answer.

See, they're not complex questions.

Yeah, no, I brought up some of this is flying over Bedminster,

This goes all down the coast, even the National Football League.

concerned about drones, one of your colleagues, Carlos Menez from Miami Republican said this,

and let me get your reaction on the other side.

The stakes will only continue to rise with major global events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup,

of which many games will be played in my hometown of Miami.

And the 2028 Summer Olympics coming to the United States, we have a responsibility to defend against
[0:03:33 - 0:03:38] ▶
drone threats and the need for action is clear.

We must act swiftly.

So not to compare it, nothing really apples to apples here, but he's saying,

hey, look, we're going to be hosting the World Cup.

I hear you saying, hey, we deal with this stuff every single day on the border.

And it just goes to the sort of multitude of possible threats here.

And that's why it's so astounding that we don't have answers.

Americans deserve to be safe.

They deserve to be safe as a football game that is served to feel safe in their backyards.

They deserve to feel safe.

And the fact that we don't know what is happening is a major problem.

Let me leave you with this, your colleague from New Jersey there said,

you know what, if it's over water, shoot it down.

If Donald Trump, when he comes into office and he says,

Congress, Min Gonzalez, you see this stuff at the border, we see this fly.

They should already be shooting it down, even over mainland US.

But if it shoots down, it comes down and I get that.

But there are so many different ways.

You don't have to, it's not like I'm shooting a slingshot to hit this thing.

You can take another, you can have another drone go out and take it,

go and capture that drone.

I want to capture it to find out.

Where did it come from?

These are some of the questions I think can solve the problem.
