If there was the remains of a craft and bodies, where would that be located?
[0:00:00 - 0:00:08] ▶
If a flying saucer with alien bodies was recovered at Roswell, Ben Smith hopes that there
[0:00:08 - 0:00:13] ▶
still could be evidence at the site where the object might have come to rest.
[0:00:13 - 0:00:18] ▶
The search for the Holy Grail, as we would call it, continues.
[0:00:18 - 0:00:22] ▶
Roswell, the first witness, is a three-part series on the history channel focusing on a personal
[0:00:22 - 0:00:27] ▶
diary of the first person to investigate the wreckage in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 of
[0:00:27 - 0:00:34] ▶
a US Army Air Force balloon crash.
[0:00:34 - 0:00:37] ▶
For years, conspiracy theorists and believers have put forth the idea that it was actually
[0:00:37 - 0:00:41] ▶
a UFO that crashed at that site in 1947.
[0:00:41 - 0:00:44] ▶
Don Schmidt is the author of five books and hundreds of articles about UFOs and he's
[0:00:44 - 0:00:48] ▶
a part of the team on the show.
[0:00:48 - 0:00:49] ▶
Thanks for joining us.
[0:00:50 - 0:00:51] ▶
Good morning, Larry and Robert.
[0:00:51 - 0:00:53] ▶
Thank you for having me.
[0:00:53 - 0:00:54] ▶
So to my knowledge, there's never been any foreign alien material or a body obtained.
[0:00:54 - 0:01:01] ▶
So what evidence is driving people to believe that such a thing exists?
[0:01:01 - 0:01:06] ▶
Well, certainly the preponderance of eyewitness testimony, including sadly more and more
[0:01:06 - 0:01:12] ▶
deathbed confessions, all of the describing that what indeed did happen was something of
[0:01:12 - 0:01:19] ▶
an unearthly nature.
[0:01:19 - 0:01:21] ▶
And if you keep in mind that the Roswell Army airfield at that time actually put out a
[0:01:21 - 0:01:26] ▶
press release where they claim they had captured the real thing.
[0:01:26 - 0:01:31] ▶
And then five hours later, they explained it away.
[0:01:31 - 0:01:33] ▶
It's just a weather balloon device, which still, as you mentioned, is the official government
[0:01:33 - 0:01:38] ▶
position after all this time.
[0:01:38 - 0:01:40] ▶
But short of the witness, there's one of the reasons we keep looking for the documentation.
[0:01:40 - 0:01:45] ▶
We look for other evidence archaeological work that we've done at the site and searching
[0:01:45 - 0:01:51] ▶
through the archives, presidential libraries, that type of thing.
[0:01:51 - 0:01:56] ▶
Anything that will keep pointing us and steering us towards the actual truth to what happened
[0:01:56 - 0:02:01] ▶
So let's talk about what new evidence was uncovered.
[0:02:02 - 0:02:04] ▶
You have a diary of the first investigator provided to you by his grandchildren and what
[0:02:04 - 0:02:10] ▶
did you find in that?
[0:02:10 - 0:02:12] ▶
Well, that is still in investigation and what they're looking for because he was an intelligence
[0:02:12 - 0:02:18] ▶
He was, in fact, the number one intelligence officer in the US military at that time because
[0:02:19 - 0:02:25] ▶
he was a member of the 509th bomb group, which was the first atomic bomb squadron in the
[0:02:25 - 0:02:30] ▶
So they're looking now as far as cryptologists, as far as any coding, anything that might
[0:02:32 - 0:02:38] ▶
suggest more than what was actually written by him at that time because he was under strict
[0:02:38 - 0:02:45] ▶
as far as a security, or at that time.
[0:02:45 - 0:02:50] ▶
So let's take a step back from this.
[0:02:50 - 0:02:52] ▶
If you were aliens and you had this advanced technology that allowed you to come here,
[0:02:52 - 0:02:58] ▶
couldn't you also monitor what we were doing without landing a silver saucer in a cornfield?
[0:02:58 - 0:03:03] ▶
Well, it wasn't a cornfield.
[0:03:04 - 0:03:05] ▶
I'm just saying yes, it's an air statement.
[0:03:06 - 0:03:08] ▶
Right, right, right, right.
[0:03:08 - 0:03:11] ▶
Yeah, it was certainly, and in fact, many of the researchers at that time suggested, including
[0:03:11 - 0:03:17] ▶
Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, who was the famous meteor expert, that these were unmanned probes that
[0:03:17 - 0:03:23] ▶
these were just investigating our most secure military installations at that time.
[0:03:23 - 0:03:30] ▶
This is ironic that the first atomic bomb was detonated in New Mexico just two years
[0:03:30 - 0:03:35] ▶
And all the captured German V2 rockets were being tested at the White Sands proving grounds
[0:03:37 - 0:03:42] ▶
So New Mexico was the hotbed of military research at that time.
[0:03:43 - 0:03:48] ▶
And according to the government's own research records, there were more UFO sightings in New
[0:03:48 - 0:03:54] ▶
Mexico than anywhere else at that time.
[0:03:54 - 0:03:57] ▶
It was as though they were checking out our military potential.
[0:03:57 - 0:04:01] ▶
So he raised a good question.
[0:04:01 - 0:04:02] ▶
Are we dealing with unmanned probes?
[0:04:02 - 0:04:04] ▶
Or are they actually the crew pilots that are onboard these craft?
[0:04:04 - 0:04:10] ▶
So the beginning before that we started talking to you, we showed a clip from the show
[0:04:10 - 0:04:13] ▶
that says, you going out to the actual site, which I'm sure has been tread over a million
[0:04:13 - 0:04:18] ▶
times, did you find anything new?
[0:04:18 - 0:04:20] ▶
Well, actually, it hasn't been.
[0:04:20 - 0:04:22] ▶
We kept it very secret mainly because it's privately owned.
[0:04:22 - 0:04:28] ▶
And so we've been very respectful and very professional as to the amount of work being
[0:04:28 - 0:04:33] ▶
But the debris field specifically, there have been a number of fragments that have been
[0:04:34 - 0:04:39] ▶
recovered of mostly aluminum, but they also contain molybdeum, which is a hardening agent
[0:04:39 - 0:04:47] ▶
strictly for steel, not aluminum.
[0:04:47 - 0:04:51] ▶
And yet there it is.
[0:04:51 - 0:04:52] ▶
It shouldn't be there.
[0:04:52 - 0:04:53] ▶
And in some of the fragments, it's as high as 3%.
[0:04:53 - 0:04:56] ▶
Now, this doesn't prove it's extraterrestrial, but nonetheless, it's an alloy that is not
[0:04:56 - 0:05:02] ▶
common here on Earth.
[0:05:02 - 0:05:04] ▶
So we keep looking, but I can assure both of you, we're not finding fragments of balloons,
[0:05:04 - 0:05:10] ▶
of aircraft of any sort, of rockets.
[0:05:10 - 0:05:13] ▶
And so the hunt will continue because in the face of the declining numbers of witnesses,
[0:05:13 - 0:05:20] ▶
the World War II generation now quickly passing away, we are left to search documents and
[0:05:20 - 0:05:27] ▶
look for the physical remains, the physical evidence.
[0:05:27 - 0:05:30] ▶
The first witness is hearing ceremonies on the history channel.
[0:05:33 - 0:05:35] ▶
Thanks for joining us.
[0:05:35 - 0:05:36] ▶
Thank you, Larry Robin.
