The United States' most well-known UFO investigation panels, Project Sign, Grudge, and Blue Book,
[0:00:00 - 0:00:06] ▶
ran from 1949 to 1969 and collected data on more than 13,000 UFO sightings.
[0:00:06 - 0:00:13] ▶
Of this massive body of sightings, 258 cases reported UFO sightings by ships,
[0:00:13 - 0:00:18] ▶
and a small percentage of these highlight unidentified submerged objects, or transmedia objects.
[0:00:18 - 0:00:24] ▶
Of course, as I highlighted in my last USO video, go check that out.
[0:00:25 - 0:00:29] ▶
1952's OpNav Directive 3820 restricted Navy UFO sightings to only be shared with Air Force
[0:00:29 - 0:00:36] ▶
Technical Intelligence Center, USAP Intelligence, and Director of Naval Intelligence.
[0:00:36 - 0:00:41] ▶
So does no wonder we are left wanting for officially reported USO.
[0:00:41 - 0:00:46] ▶
But what about the cases we do have? And what are the cases that don't appear in Blue Book that
[0:00:46 - 0:00:50] ▶
span our history our worth our time? Hey guys, it's UAPGurb, and join me as we take a closer look
[0:00:50 - 0:00:57] ▶
at USO sightings throughout history. From Blue Book to the modern day to Green World War I,
[0:00:57 - 0:01:03] ▶
let's analyze reported cases of unidentified submerged objects. And guys, today we will not
[0:01:03 - 0:01:08] ▶
just be sticking with the US, but analyzing global cases I find worth studying.
[0:01:08 - 0:01:13] ▶
As mentioned in the intro, only 2% of Blue Book cases, aka 258 reports,
[0:01:13 - 0:01:24] ▶
involved sea sightings of UFOs, and 13 of these reports can be classified as good,
[0:01:25 - 0:01:31] ▶
meeting merit standards for UFO reporting, and a handful of these cases with relevant data
[0:01:31 - 0:01:36] ▶
describe USO and transmedia object. Found in the annals of Blue Book indexing is a sighting that
[0:01:36 - 0:01:42] ▶
occurred in the North Atlantic from the ship Mark Calla on August 4th 1950. Shockingly this case
[0:01:42 - 0:01:49] ▶
is listed by Blue Book as unidentified, and may in fact be my favorite case I will discuss today.
[0:01:49 - 0:01:55] ▶
At 10pm EDT, the shipmaster, chiefmate, and third mate of the MV Mark Calla saw an unidentified
[0:01:56 - 0:02:04] ▶
elliptical object approach their vessel from the southwest heading northeast.
[0:02:04 - 0:02:07] ▶
Passing within 1000 feet of the ship, the object hovered no more than 100 feet above sea level,
[0:02:08 - 0:02:14] ▶
with speeds ranging from 25 to 500 miles per hour. This object was described as ovular,
[0:02:14 - 0:02:21] ▶
cylindrically shaped, and elliptical, like half an egg cut lengthwise.
[0:02:21 - 0:02:25] ▶
The object's appearance varied in testimony from shiny aluminum to metallic white.
[0:02:26 - 0:02:31] ▶
All three witnesses describe the object as having a rotary and wobbling motion as it passed
[0:02:31 - 0:02:36] ▶
closely over the ocean. This event lasted roughly a minute. We can also hop on board the
[0:02:36 - 0:02:42] ▶
SS City of Almaco, heading from Yokohama to LA just north of the Hawaiian Islands on November 7th,
[0:02:42 - 0:02:49] ▶
1959. Three witnesses onboard the craft observed a bright object streaking across the water from four
[0:02:49 - 0:02:56] ▶
miles north of the ship. The light emitted three flashes before submerging under the surface,
[0:02:56 - 0:03:01] ▶
and remember those three flashes as they'll come up later. The Almaco changed its course to investigate,
[0:03:01 - 0:03:06] ▶
but nothing was discovered. Bluebook labeled this case as a meteor, but while such a
[0:03:06 - 0:03:11] ▶
prosaic explanation might be possible, the idea of a meteor taking a low pursuit angle and
[0:03:11 - 0:03:16] ▶
streaking across the water for an extended time period warrants more investigation.
[0:03:16 - 0:03:21] ▶
And if that case is not anomalous enough for you, let's investigate near the vicinity of
[0:03:21 - 0:03:25] ▶
Ascension Island in the Atlantic on the 25th of June 1960. At 2334 local time, an operation
[0:03:25 - 0:03:32] ▶
range vessel, co-named Whiskey, was retrieving the data cassette from a missile test labeled 1802.
[0:03:32 - 0:03:38] ▶
The small boat was launched to recover the floating cassette, illuminated by strobes,
[0:03:39 - 0:03:43] ▶
and monitored from the whiskey and aircraft above. As the smaller boat got within three to 500 yards
[0:03:43 - 0:03:49] ▶
of the strobe, the crew observed a steady white or yellowish light, up here 100 yards from the
[0:03:49 - 0:03:55] ▶
cassette from under the surface and roughly 25 degrees from their boat. This light appeared to be
[0:03:55 - 0:04:00] ▶
on or very close to the surface, and no waves appeared to break over the light. The event lasted
[0:04:00 - 0:04:06] ▶
for 10 seconds and was spotted by the RCA photographer, test observer, divers of the recovery crew,
[0:04:06 - 0:04:12] ▶
as well as the pilot and co-pilot of the recovery plane. Bluebook claimed this sighting was a flare
[0:04:12 - 0:04:18] ▶
however, it was established none of the planes or vessels released a flare over this sight,
[0:04:18 - 0:04:22] ▶
and this story reminds me very closely of the encounter I relayed from Luella Zondo in my last
[0:04:23 - 0:04:29] ▶
video, where a diving team sent to retrieve missile data observed a massive USO emerged from the
[0:04:29 - 0:04:36] ▶
depths and intercept the missile, and speaking of rushed Bluebook conclusions we can look at the
[0:04:36 - 0:04:41] ▶
SS Morgantown victory on the 11th of January 1966. Near 1000 miles southeast of Tokyo, the third
[0:04:41 - 0:04:49] ▶
mate Helmsman and BOW look out observed a cigar-shaped object approach their ship. The cigar object
[0:04:49 - 0:04:55] ▶
glowed with an orange yellow color, with a bright glow on its front and a body with a dollar glow.
[0:04:55 - 0:05:01] ▶
The body had two lights on top and the entire craft was estimated to be 200 to 250 feet long
[0:05:01 - 0:05:07] ▶
and 35 to 40 feet length. The object neared the starboard side of the ship from the horizon,
[0:05:07 - 0:05:14] ▶
and then turned 180 degrees to avoid going over the vessel. It approached the ship within one
[0:05:14 - 0:05:20] ▶
mile at an elevation of far less than 400 feet. After hovering for 30 seconds, the object crossed
[0:05:20 - 0:05:26] ▶
in front of the ship and once again changed directions. This incident occurred for three minutes
[0:05:26 - 0:05:31] ▶
until the object entered the sea. The shipmaster believed a plane had crashed and ordered the ship
[0:05:31 - 0:05:37] ▶
to conduct a search. Bluebook identified this case as the Cosmos 33 satellite decay, however,
[0:05:37 - 0:05:43] ▶
this explanation does not account for the object hovering and speed and directional changes.
[0:05:43 - 0:05:48] ▶

Maritime UFO and USO Research in Bluebook. This stat-rich report highlights some exceptional data,
[0:05:54 - 0:06:01] ▶
such as the split between bluebook sightings between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.
[0:06:01 - 0:06:05] ▶
Of the 258 ship-visual cases, 104 occurred in the Atlantic and 155 in the Pacific.
[0:06:05 - 0:06:13] ▶
This data highlights while there is an increase in Pacific sightings and possibly a hot spot.
[0:06:14 - 0:06:18] ▶
UFO and USO sightings are not unisolated incident on water.
[0:06:19 - 0:06:23] ▶
Historically, the Soviets kept a tight lid on UAP reports. In fact, Russian UFO
[0:06:28 - 0:06:34] ▶
stigma has been as oppressive if not more than our own here in the United States.
[0:06:34 - 0:06:38] ▶
One day I would like to cover the USSR UFO stigma and files at length, but that is not the topic
[0:06:38 - 0:06:44] ▶
of our video today because fortunately, the former Soviet Union has a trove of USO reports
[0:06:44 - 0:06:50] ▶
that are indeed worth investigating. I will primarily be pulling from the case log of Russia's
[0:06:50 - 0:06:55] ▶
USO secrets by Paul Stonehill and Philip Mantle, however, I will only be discussing cases that I
[0:06:55 - 0:07:02] ▶
find especially worthy of note and can track down additional reporting on. Many of these
[0:07:02 - 0:07:07] ▶
cases are just stories and we don't have direct access to Soviet declassified files like we do
[0:07:07 - 0:07:13] ▶
with bluebook, so I will be doing my best to vet these cases. Let's dive into a handful of the
[0:07:13 - 0:07:19] ▶
most interesting. On October 7th 1977, the Soviet submarine Repairship Volga was piloting the
[0:07:19 - 0:07:26] ▶
Barrett Sea. Its radar detected an unknown object approaching at a distance of roughly 60 miles.
[0:07:26 - 0:07:32] ▶
The Volga's Captain Tarantin approached the bridge to see nine bright discs moving in from
[0:07:32 - 0:07:37] ▶
the northeast. The discs arrived and circled the vessel for a span of 18 minutes. During the
[0:07:37 - 0:07:43] ▶
encounter ship Comlinx malfunctioned, similar to the major jafarie in the 1976 Tehran UFO incident.
[0:07:43 - 0:07:50] ▶
After the discs depart, the ship comms and operations return to normal.
[0:07:51 - 0:07:55] ▶
Raising concern in the Soviet Navy, fleet Admiral Nikolai Ivanovich Smirnov,
[0:07:55 - 0:08:00] ▶
known not the liquor, issued a directive on mandatory reporting of UFO sightings by Soviet,
[0:08:00 - 0:08:06] ▶
hydrographic scientific research and reconnaissance ships. Similar to Janab 146c and Obnav Directive
[0:08:06 - 0:08:12] ▶
3820. The directive was authorized by Naval Officer and Ewhologist Vladimir G. Asaza and signed by
[0:08:12 - 0:08:20] ▶
Naval Deputy Chief of Staff Piotr Navojtsiv. This case was not only discussed and rushed as
[0:08:20 - 0:08:25] ▶
USO secrets, but also in Jacques Velay's book UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union,
[0:08:25 - 0:08:30] ▶
a cosmic samis dot on pages 29-30. The link to the book, free of course, will be in the video
[0:08:30 - 0:08:37] ▶
description, so check that out for yourself. Kym Chautka Peninsula is a fascinating region of Russia.
[0:08:37 - 0:08:43] ▶
The almost 500 square kilometer area separates the sea of Akhatsk from the Pacific Ocean.
[0:08:43 - 0:08:49] ▶
According to Russia's USO secrets and an article written by Soviet scientist,
[0:08:49 - 0:08:53] ▶
Valentin Salomshakov, on a bright day in August of 1970, we follow a group of hydrologists
[0:08:54 - 0:09:01] ▶
conducting research within a motorboat on Kym Chautka Lake. Suddenly, around a kilometer
[0:09:01 - 0:09:06] ▶
away from the boat, a massive dome of water shot out of the lake, in which rose a gray colored
[0:09:06 - 0:09:12] ▶
oval object, estimated to be 40-60 meters in length. The object rose to an altitude of nearly
[0:09:12 - 0:09:19] ▶
100 meters in hovered motionlessly. As it did, the motorboat engine stalled, horrified the team
[0:09:19 - 0:09:26] ▶
gazed at the object until it accelerated away rapidly, restoring functions to their engine.
[0:09:26 - 0:09:32] ▶
What fascinates me about this case is the disruption to the boat engine something we see
[0:09:32 - 0:09:38] ▶
Kevin Knuth discuss at the Seoul Foundation and an aspect of many UFO encounters from vehicles.
[0:09:38 - 0:09:43] ▶
In the same year of our Soviet submarine case of 77, is one of the strangest encounters I have heard.
[0:09:44 - 0:09:50] ▶
This information is relayed from the manuscripts and books of Felix Ziggle, one of Russia's
[0:09:51 - 0:09:56] ▶
most well-respected uphologists. On June 1577, the Soviet ship Novo Guznetzk navigated the
[0:09:56 - 0:10:03] ▶
Gulf of Gayaqil, Ecuador. A radiogram sent by the ship relayed at night, strained ahead of the
[0:10:03 - 0:10:09] ▶
vehicle. A white, luminescent sphere rose from the water. It flew around the ship,
[0:10:09 - 0:10:15] ▶
hovered 20 meters over the vessel, flew higher, zig-zagged, and dove back into the water.
[0:10:15 - 0:10:20] ▶
And with the Russians, my friends, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'd like to leave you with
[0:10:21 - 0:10:25] ▶
this clip from this Russian documentary on USOs from 2006, where we see a Russian submarine captain
[0:10:25 - 0:10:32] ▶
in Discuss the Phenomenon. I highly recommend checking out this whole documentary and of course
[0:10:32 - 0:10:36] ▶
the link will be in the video description.
[0:10:36 - 0:10:38] ▶
But one country that has an abundance of declassified UFO slash USO government documentation
[0:11:02 - 0:11:14] ▶
is Australia. The Australian UFO files consist of a multitude of reports, papers, and files of
[0:11:14 - 0:11:22] ▶
anomalous sightings. In fact, the Royal Australian Air Force's first official unknown reported,
[0:11:22 - 0:11:28] ▶
UAS, unusual aerial sighting, occurred on January 23rd 1964 and describes, quote,
[0:11:28 - 0:11:35] ▶
seen at sea by crew of a vessel northeast point of Groot Island, Western Australia.
[0:11:35 - 0:11:40] ▶
Large lights and water made compass go haywire. Shadow in center of lights rotated clockwise,
[0:11:40 - 0:11:47] ▶
causing lights to pulsate. The tampering of instrumentation is something we see again and again,
[0:11:47 - 0:11:54] ▶
pop up in UFO USO encounters and certainly not missed by Australia, a report was drafted on
[0:11:54 - 0:12:00] ▶
magnetic disturbance and local compass activity from the sighting. Around this time in the 50s and 60s,
[0:12:00 - 0:12:06] ▶
the Australian authorities began to take USO and UFO sightings seriously. See these newspaper
[0:12:06 - 0:12:11] ▶
clippings of civilian UAP encounters near water, clipped and included alongside government and
[0:12:11 - 0:12:17] ▶
military encounters. Such as this 1963 clipping, about a fisherman observing a light shoot up from
[0:12:17 - 0:12:23] ▶
the water, hover and disappear. Australian intelligence agencies actually tracked reports of Australian
[0:12:23 - 0:12:29] ▶
encounters very similar to both the fisherman encounter and our 1977 Soviet encounter.
[0:12:29 - 0:12:36] ▶
This 1967 incident details a sighting in which both staff from the Department of Works
[0:12:36 - 0:12:42] ▶
and local Aussies observed lights pop up from out of the sea, rise to a great height,
[0:12:42 - 0:12:48] ▶
curve and return to the oceans. Many of these sightings were accompanied by three distinct
[0:12:48 - 0:12:54] ▶
flashes once returned to sea. Remember back to our SS City of Almaco case in Project Blue Book.
[0:12:54 - 0:13:00] ▶
It is worthy to note that Lieutenant Commander of Australian Intelligence AF Perry hypothesized
[0:13:00 - 0:13:06] ▶
these could possibly be experiments conducted by several oil search teams. However, this does not
[0:13:06 - 0:13:12] ▶
seem consistent as this sort of sighting has been seen by Australia, the Soviets, and Americans.
[0:13:12 - 0:13:17] ▶
Outside of the Australian government, the citizens of the landowner have some fascinating stories
[0:13:18 - 0:13:23] ▶
of USOs, especially regarding objects shooting out of the sea and performing intelligently controlled
[0:13:23 - 0:13:29] ▶
maneuvers. In 1947, Port Augusta, South Australia, Frederick Walter and Emma Flavall observed five
[0:13:29 - 0:13:37] ▶
gray oblong objects, rise from the sea and move from northwest to southeast. This sighting was
[0:13:37 - 0:13:44] ▶
also observed by two railroad workers who described five white or light pink egg-shaped objects,
[0:13:44 - 0:13:51] ▶
rise from the sea but with the added detail of quivering, similar to our MV Marcola case mentioned
[0:13:51 - 0:13:57] ▶
earlier in the video. Sagar's shapes have been seen in our skies and oceans throughout world
[0:13:57 - 0:14:02] ▶
and Australian history. Around the time the Australian government began taking UAP seriously,
[0:14:02 - 0:14:08] ▶
we can find a case that appeared in the July to August issue of Flying Salsa Review,
[0:14:08 - 0:14:13] ▶
1966-67. Private pilot C Adams and television cameraman Mr. Les Hendy reported seeing four
[0:14:13 - 0:14:22] ▶
or five mysterious objects three miles east of Fraser Island. Approaching the objects from the
[0:14:22 - 0:14:27] ▶
sky, there appeared to be two dark colored cigars, narrow, and up to 100 feet long accompanied by
[0:14:27 - 0:14:34] ▶
three smaller objects. The two noticed the object standing still in the water and started to submerge
[0:14:34 - 0:14:40] ▶
as the aircraft approached within two miles. Initially thought to be whales or submarines,
[0:14:40 - 0:14:45] ▶
the men and independent sightings from nearby SeaBray Hotel observed that the objects did not
[0:14:45 - 0:14:51] ▶
disturb the surface when submerging. Almost like they did not interact with the water,
[0:14:51 - 0:14:56] ▶
this interaction with fluid is extremely similar to the HMNZS Southland case,
[0:14:56 - 0:15:01] ▶
Knuth describes it the sole foundation which oddly enough occurred near New Zealand.
[0:15:01 - 0:15:05] ▶
We all know of the famous alleged UFO encounter by explorer Christopher Columbus,
[0:15:05 - 0:15:14] ▶
where he and his crew saw what they described as a wax candle, rising and falling in the middle of
[0:15:14 - 0:15:21] ▶
the ocean and the middle of the night. But I don't have enough evidence or resources to talk about
[0:15:21 - 0:15:26] ▶
this case. What I do want to talk about are two cases that occurred around the turn of the 20th
[0:15:26 - 0:15:31] ▶
century that are documented by the US hydrographic Bureau. On November 12, 1887, Captain RF
[0:15:31 - 0:15:39] ▶
more of the English steamer the SS Siberian encountered a USO 10 nautical miles off Cape
[0:15:39 - 0:15:45] ▶
Race, Newfoundland. The captain observed an enormous fireball. Rise from the sea to 50 feet,
[0:15:45 - 0:15:51] ▶
moving towards the craft then speed away into the sky. At the time the hydrographic Bureau in
[0:15:51 - 0:15:56] ▶
Washington named it, quote, one of the most rare and most difficult to explain electrical phenomena.
[0:15:56 - 0:16:02] ▶
But as far as I know I have not seen any cases of ball lightning exiting the sea.
[0:16:03 - 0:16:08] ▶
In Africa the Gulf of Guinea 1902, four men aboard the ship the Fort Salisbury witnessed
[0:16:08 - 0:16:14] ▶
any men's objects sinking into the ocean. The cigar shaped object measured nearly 200 meters
[0:16:14 - 0:16:20] ▶
long and 300 meters wide. As the object passed under the ship the men on the vessel described two
[0:16:20 - 0:16:27] ▶
orange lights lit at the front and two blue green lights shining at the other end. This case in my
[0:16:27 - 0:16:32] ▶
opinion could represent a submarine. However, seen as popular submarines at this time such as the
[0:16:32 - 0:16:38] ▶
early German U-boat measured solely 41 meters long, I still find this case anomalous.
[0:16:38 - 0:16:43] ▶
And now we get to an anomalous and perplexing USO called the Maritime Lightwheel.
[0:16:43 - 0:16:52] ▶
Throughout the late 19th and early 20th century there was a hot spot of peculiar phenomena
[0:16:53 - 0:16:59] ▶
observed by sailors all over the eastern hemisphere. And it's worthy to note this just wasn't an
[0:16:59 - 0:17:04] ▶
isolated incident. In fact, the Maritime Lightwheel is reported on in that Russian USO documentary I
[0:17:04 - 0:17:10] ▶
mentioned earlier. We had information about what was in the ocean in the seas of our inner
[0:17:10 - 0:17:17] ▶
seas. In the case of some foreign waves connected with the lighting of the water.
[0:17:17 - 0:17:24] ▶
October 1969, the Arab Sea. The Soviet Union's command of the Soviet
[0:17:25 - 0:17:32] ▶
vessel Vladimir Vorobyev did not expect a sudden fear. The devices were shown to be
[0:17:32 - 0:17:37] ▶
häritted soaked in 27 meters in relation to theona project. We assumed a
[0:17:37 - 0:17:40] ▶
zag of cracker touhsite hitting very dense fields.
[0:17:40 - 0:17:45] ▶
But the crew of the Querky Lake emerged as a little wave.
[0:17:45 - 0:17:48] ▶
Does the river show its resistance?
[0:17:48 - 0:17:53] ▶
No, the captain said, the catch transport occurred.
[0:17:53 - 0:17:58] ▶
They said that if they would do something they would die,
[0:17:59 - 0:18:04] ▶
Long time ago a map of the ocean hasn't Destroyed the sun.
[0:18:04 - 0:18:31] ▶
What was it? The question remained without answer.
[0:18:31 - 0:18:35] ▶
The sea was not exactly looking at the light of the wheels,
[0:18:37 - 0:18:41] ▶
which our famous construction worker Krolov called the underwater Prizes.
[0:18:41 - 0:18:47] ▶
The size of the wheels is sometimes huge, up to several kilometers.
[0:18:47 - 0:18:51] ▶
And many times they see even from space.
[0:18:51 - 0:18:54] ▶
They are not rarely moved much faster,
[0:18:54 - 0:18:58] ▶
but the brightness of the light on the surface is the fact that it is a bit visible on the clouds.
[0:18:58 - 0:19:03] ▶
What is it? Without the light of the micr-organisms?
[0:19:03 - 0:19:06] ▶
But as explained by the amazing symmetry of the huge speed of rotation of the light wheels,
[0:19:06 - 0:19:11] ▶
the rays of the wheels on the surface of the sea with the speed of the racing car.
[0:19:11 - 0:19:16] ▶
The micr-organisms can't move so quickly.
[0:19:16 - 0:19:19] ▶
The wheels are not rarely shown that there are no even traces of the light of the plant.
[0:19:19 - 0:19:25] ▶
As described in the documentary in many cases,
[0:19:29 - 0:19:31] ▶
the maritime light wheel is described as a wheel surrounded by spokes of brilliant white light.
[0:19:31 - 0:19:37] ▶
That can appear below the water surface or hovering in the air,
[0:19:37 - 0:19:41] ▶
serving as a possibly trans-medium craft.
[0:19:41 - 0:19:44] ▶
I must note also as they talked about in the video,
[0:19:44 - 0:19:47] ▶
some attribute these USO wheels to a rare interaction between bioluminescent algae
[0:19:47 - 0:19:52] ▶
and pressure waves in an otherwise calm water.
[0:19:52 - 0:19:55] ▶
However, I do not think this explanation has any sort of consensus or full acceptance.
[0:19:55 - 0:20:00] ▶
But let's review the earliest sightings of these wheels.
[0:20:00 - 0:20:04] ▶
And mind you, there are many, many, many more sightings of the maritime light wheel that have been observed,
[0:20:04 - 0:20:09] ▶
but I just want to recount a few of the earliest.
[0:20:09 - 0:20:12] ▶
On March 27, 1873, the ship Adelhyde, void from LeBond to Singapore.
[0:20:12 - 0:20:18] ▶
Captain LeBman noticed a peculiar blinding milky white light.
[0:20:18 - 0:20:22] ▶
Appeared beneath the waves about two ship lengths from the vessel,
[0:20:22 - 0:20:25] ▶
emitting waves of light described as,
[0:20:25 - 0:20:27] ▶
quote, flakes of snow when driven over the rocks by a strong wind.
[0:20:27 - 0:20:32] ▶
The light followed the ship traveling up four to five knots for roughly half an hour before slowly disappearing.
[0:20:32 - 0:20:39] ▶
LeBman stated he had not seen anything like this in his 26 years of maritime life.
[0:20:39 - 0:20:44] ▶
We can find the description of this case in the National Library of Australia,
[0:20:44 - 0:20:48] ▶
mentioned in an 1873 news article in the Argus.
[0:20:48 - 0:20:52] ▶
An almost USO flap was experienced in the Persian Gulf from 1879 to 1901.
[0:20:52 - 0:20:59] ▶
An initial USO sighting was reported to the Admiralty by Captain Evans,
[0:20:59 - 0:21:04] ▶
a hydrographer for the British Navy on May 15, 1879.
[0:21:04 - 0:21:08] ▶
J.E. Pringle of the HMS Vulture reported, quote,
[0:21:08 - 0:21:11] ▶
luminous waves or pulsations in the water,
[0:21:12 - 0:21:15] ▶
moving at great speed, end quote, passing under the vulture.
[0:21:15 - 0:21:18] ▶
It was at this time Pringle noticed two objects to the east and west,
[0:21:18 - 0:21:22] ▶
what appeared to be, quote, revolving wheels with a center on that bearing
[0:21:22 - 0:21:26] ▶
and whose spokes were illuminated, end quote.
[0:21:26 - 0:21:29] ▶
Worthy to note, these two wheels were rotating in equal and opposite directions,
[0:21:29 - 0:21:34] ▶
and the spokes were about 25 feet in length.
[0:21:34 - 0:21:37] ▶
It is unclear if these wheels were submerged into the water
[0:21:37 - 0:21:40] ▶
as the language of this 19th century English gets a little tricky here.
[0:21:40 - 0:21:43] ▶
The second instance in the Persian Gulf occurred in May of 1880
[0:21:43 - 0:21:47] ▶
from the British India Company steamer Patna.
[0:21:47 - 0:21:50] ▶
Captain Avern, Mr. Manning III officer, and others observed two enormous luminous wheels
[0:21:50 - 0:21:56] ▶
appear on each side of the ship near 1130 pm.
[0:21:56 - 0:22:00] ▶
The wheels were, quote, whirling around,
[0:22:00 - 0:22:02] ▶
the spokes of which seemed to brush along the ship.
[0:22:02 - 0:22:05] ▶
The spokes would be 200 to 300 yards long,
[0:22:05 - 0:22:08] ▶
and resembled the birch rods of the Dame School.
[0:22:08 - 0:22:11] ▶
Each wheel contained about 16 spokes, and although the wheels must have been
[0:22:11 - 0:22:15] ▶
some 5 to 600 yards in diameter, the spokes would be distinctly seen all the way around, end quote.
[0:22:15 - 0:22:21] ▶
The men described the appearance of the spokes could almost be represented
[0:22:21 - 0:22:25] ▶
by standing in a boat and flashing a bull's eyes lantern horizontally
[0:22:25 - 0:22:29] ▶
along the surface of the water, round and round.
[0:22:29 - 0:22:32] ▶
The final Persian encounter with this USO was observed on April 4th, 1901,
[0:22:32 - 0:22:37] ▶
where Captain Hoseyne of the steamship Kila encountered, quote,
[0:22:37 - 0:22:41] ▶
vast shafts of light suddenly appeared, shaft followed shaft upon the surface of the sea,
[0:22:41 - 0:22:46] ▶
but it was only a faint light and in about 15 minutes died out,
[0:22:46 - 0:22:50] ▶
having appeared suddenly and having died out gradually.
[0:22:50 - 0:22:53] ▶
These shafts revolved at a velocity of about 60 miles an hour.
[0:22:53 - 0:22:57] ▶
From earlier the year of 1880 I just mentioned,
[0:22:57 - 0:23:00] ▶
this wheel-like object was possibly seen off the Malabar coast of India,
[0:23:00 - 0:23:04] ▶
on January 5th by Commander of the SS, Shahjihan.
[0:23:04 - 0:23:08] ▶
Ari Harris describes a clear night over calm waters, star shining bright and no moon present.
[0:23:08 - 0:23:14] ▶
At roughly 10pm Harris in the shifts 3rd officer noticed a milky white circle in the sky,
[0:23:14 - 0:23:20] ▶
resembling, quote, the nebulae sometimes seen in the heavens.
[0:23:20 - 0:23:24] ▶
Approaching the object, the sailors stopped the vessel to try and gain an understanding
[0:23:24 - 0:23:28] ▶
of this anomalous object and its waves of light.
[0:23:28 - 0:23:31] ▶
The last old example here I will cover occurred on the 10th of June 1909
[0:23:31 - 0:23:35] ▶
and was actually featured in Scientific American, issue 106-51,
[0:23:35 - 0:23:40] ▶
which relays the nautical meteorological annual,
[0:23:40 - 0:23:43] ▶
published by the Danish Meteorological Institute, a report on a, quote, singular phenomena.
[0:23:43 - 0:23:49] ▶
While sailing through the streets of Malaka,
[0:23:49 - 0:23:51] ▶
Captain Gabe of the SS Bin Tang observed a vast revolving wheel of light
[0:23:51 - 0:23:56] ▶
under the water, quote, long arms issuing from a center around which the whole system appeared to rotate.
[0:23:56 - 0:24:03] ▶
Surfacing, this wheel was so vast, only half of it could be seen at a time,
[0:24:03 - 0:24:08] ▶
with the center laying near the horizon.
[0:24:08 - 0:24:11] ▶
The wheel was able to move forward in very in speed and rotation,
[0:24:11 - 0:24:15] ▶
disappearing when the center was right under the vessel.
[0:24:15 - 0:24:18] ▶
And like our last 1880 case, these maritime lightwheels aren't just seen below the water.
[0:24:18 - 0:24:24] ▶
In the same Danish Meteorological Institute,
[0:24:24 - 0:24:27] ▶
the report's another instance in 1910,
[0:24:27 - 0:24:30] ▶
where Captain Breyer of the Dutch steamship Valenschen was sailing in the South China Sea.
[0:24:30 - 0:24:36] ▶
Here, the Captain, first and second mate,
[0:24:36 - 0:24:39] ▶
and the first engineer all observed an object hovering above the water, quote,
[0:24:39 - 0:24:43] ▶
it looked like a horizontal wheel, rapidly turning.
[0:24:43 - 0:24:48] ▶
My friends, thank you so much for watching today,
[0:24:48 - 0:24:50] ▶
as we took a deeper dive into USO's throughout history.
[0:24:50 - 0:24:54] ▶
Please excuse the rash guard I'm wearing, I just got home from training,
[0:24:54 - 0:24:57] ▶
but Fallenks if you're watching, I'm always open for a sponsor.
[0:24:57 - 0:25:00] ▶
But anyways guys, I got such a great reaction to my first video on USO,
[0:25:00 - 0:25:04] ▶
I had to make a follow up and show that it doesn't matter what time period we're in,
[0:25:04 - 0:25:09] ▶
it doesn't matter what country we're in, there are stories of unexplained things in the water.
[0:25:09 - 0:25:14] ▶
As far as the maritime lightwheel goes, I'm pretty torn on that,
[0:25:14 - 0:25:17] ▶
whether that is a craft object or possibly some sort of more anomalous, natural phenomena.
[0:25:17 - 0:25:23] ▶
I'll include in the video description a kind of not really debunk, but a paper,
[0:25:23 - 0:25:28] ▶
kind of possibly exploring explanations for this phenomena,
[0:25:28 - 0:25:32] ▶
but still the fact these are seen in the Persian Gulf in Russia,
[0:25:32 - 0:25:36] ▶
all around the world is fascinating to me,
[0:25:36 - 0:25:38] ▶
but even more fascinating to me are Australian, Blue Book, and Soviet files.
[0:25:38 - 0:25:45] ▶
All depicting very similar experiences, tick-tax-shaped craft slash cigars,
[0:25:45 - 0:25:51] ▶
fireballs exiting the water,
[0:25:51 - 0:25:53] ▶
fireballs exiting the water that are almost curious about the ship.
[0:25:53 - 0:25:58] ▶
Egg shapes leaving the water that frightens the Soviet hydrologists,
[0:25:58 - 0:26:02] ▶
but we see multiple cases of these sort of lightballs leaving the water dancing around
[0:26:02 - 0:26:09] ▶
and shooting off into the sky or back into the water.
[0:26:09 - 0:26:12] ▶
As far as the tick-tax go, we often see these things hovering slightly above water
[0:26:13 - 0:26:18] ▶
in multiple cases, saying they're quivering or gyrating,
[0:26:18 - 0:26:21] ▶
or slowly submerging under the water, but not affecting the water surface
[0:26:21 - 0:26:25] ▶
similar to the case Kevin Knuth talks about.
[0:26:25 - 0:26:29] ▶
So I think we can find a lot of answers to the UFO phenomena by looking in our oceans.
[0:26:29 - 0:26:34] ▶
There's so many more cases, so many I wanted to talk about,
[0:26:34 - 0:26:37] ▶
but couldn't really find reputable sources for such as some Chilean incidents
[0:26:37 - 0:26:43] ▶
that supposedly in the military a fleet of saucers approached a craft.
[0:26:43 - 0:26:48] ▶
But until then we'll just keep digging in case files.
[0:26:48 - 0:26:51] ▶
It's a shame that there's not a lot of information at Blue Book.
[0:26:51 - 0:26:55] ▶
We can thank OpNav 3820 and Janop 146C for that,
[0:26:55 - 0:27:00] ▶
but we'll work with what we're given.
[0:27:00 - 0:27:02] ▶
If one day I can get in contact with George Napp and see if any of those UFO files
[0:27:02 - 0:27:06] ▶
he smuggled out of Russia pertained to the USO.
[0:27:06 - 0:27:10] ▶
I would very much like to do that, but where I stand now,
[0:27:10 - 0:27:13] ▶
USO is one of the most fascinating aspects of the phenomenon.
[0:27:13 - 0:27:16] ▶
The fact these craft can operate in air or under sea,
[0:27:16 - 0:27:20] ▶
transmittium objects without really changing their flight characteristics is insane to me.
[0:27:20 - 0:27:25] ▶
So if you guys haven't yet watched that Russian documentary,
[0:27:25 - 0:27:28] ▶
it's actually really darn good.
[0:27:28 - 0:27:30] ▶
I highly suggest watching it.
[0:27:30 - 0:27:32] ▶
It does a great job exploring the Soviet side of the USO.
[0:27:32 - 0:27:35] ▶
And of course you get to listen to someone talking to Russian accent for 45 minutes.
[0:27:35 - 0:27:40] ▶
So that's great.
[0:27:40 - 0:27:41] ▶
As always guys, thank you so much for watching.
[0:27:41 - 0:27:44] ▶
I've seen a lot of added support with the channel lately with the Kingman video
[0:27:44 - 0:27:47] ▶
and getting retweeted by Ross.
[0:27:47 - 0:27:49] ▶
So that's been great.
[0:27:49 - 0:27:50] ▶
I love all of you guys.
[0:27:50 - 0:27:51] ▶
Thanks so much for being here.
[0:27:51 - 0:27:52] ▶
Remember to like and retweet.
[0:27:52 - 0:27:54] ▶
Leave a comment on the video.
[0:27:54 - 0:27:55] ▶
Let me know what you think.
[0:27:55 - 0:27:56] ▶
Let me know what cases, crashes, whatever you want me to tackle next.
[0:27:56 - 0:28:00] ▶
That has to do with the phenomenon, of course.
[0:28:00 - 0:28:02] ▶
Nothing random.
[0:28:02 - 0:28:03] ▶
So just let me know.
[0:28:03 - 0:28:04] ▶
And again, thanks for being here guys.
[0:28:04 - 0:28:06] ▶
I'll catch you on the next video.
[0:28:06 - 0:28:07] ▶
