But a few years ago, I wrote a book about UFOs, UAPs, Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

You know, I first came to California, where I live now, years ago as a CNN correspondent, worked as you are working now as an investigative reporter.

This thing really got on rails in 1947. That is 75 years ago, when not only was there the Kenneth Arnold sighting up in Washington state, that's also the summer of Roswell.

So that's when things started going on. Now we're 75 years later. Kind of crazy, right, that we're still talking about it. Well, here's what's happened in the last five years that is extraordinary.

On December 17th, 2017, the New York Times, that August newspaper here in the United States decided to actually report that the U.S. government had been investigating UFOs for years.

He's a former very advanced fighter pilot who was working with the U.S. Navy a few years ago when there were very strange encounters off the east coast of America.

Well, you made a point earlier saying that the government for years said nothing to see here.

And even if they did and they don't, it would not explain the 75 years of all this other stuff.

I think it tells us that, first of all, the government has been lying to us for the last 60 or 70 years.

Wow. I mean, I have listened to so many people talk about this topic over the years, and I actually get a little excited when I see Gary Nolan talking about it, because he's the perfect kind of witness.

And then you've got Lou Elizondo, who has become sort of the face of the UAP thing over the years, and he has been talking since 2017 about this.

He passed away a few years ago.

And it really wasn't until about 20 years or so later that as I paid attention, as anybody does, to movies and things and UFOs.

But what was critical was about 20 years again later, actually here in Palo Alto, I was at a used bookstore.

But then as the years have gone on, we get more and more people reporting this this thing.

And it goes to the whole mythology that over the years, the U.S. defense and intelligence community has tried to influence what Hollywood puts out.

Put it in a safety deposit box and in about 15 or 20 years, take it out.

And in a few years, 10, 15 years, see how it reads to you.

And if we're not alone, and this has been known for as many years as we suspect might have been true, it really does raise questions about what the rest of that story is.
